Some of my favorite memories of Kevin

Some of my favorite memories of Kevin
By:Krystal

Kevin was an awesome kid. He always knew how to make me smile. Even though we
would have our moments and things wouldn't be so pretty, we still loved each other. I
can remember at Christmas time we were sitting in the living room, watching wrestling,
something that I have never watched before. He was telling me how wrestling is like the
coolest thing ever and I wasn't really feeling it. Well he was trying to explain an RKO
to me, and I just looked at him all confused and then he was like well look, watch me,
it's so cool. So I was like oh man here we go. He went to get out of the chair and just fell
on his butt. Oh man was that a good time. Then one time I was going to go hang out with
Nik, who is now my boyfriend, and Kevin came out with a fake gun and a real knife and
was like you hurt my sister and I'll hurt you. He really wasn't meaning it, but it was just
funny because he always tried to help me and stuff so that I wouldn't get hurt.

Me and Kevin used to go outside of our old house so I could practice pitching on him
but he always knew what was coming. He always got hit in his private area. It wasn't on
purpose it was just something that happened all the time. I can never forget those days.
I can always remember when he would come to my softball games and just watch me
and not let anything bother him. He always put things off to come and see me play, he
rarely missed one of my games, unless he had a game. He was such an amazing person.

Memories written by Mema

Kevin was born on July 17, 1990. His entrance into our life was a miracle- he even

spent the first 16 hours of his life in I.C.U.

Feb.1991 Kevin was admitted into the hospital with R.S.V. Grandma was holding Kevin

and in the elevator on the way up to the next floor, Kevin stopped breathing, grandma had

to start C.P.R. on him until help arrived. He was a happy baby and toddler.

Summer of 1994 Courtney, Krystal and Kevin or "mema's little clan" signed up for

swimming and dance classes at the summer recreation program. Kevin learned to tap

dance that summer. He loved to dance.

1996 While at day care one day Kevin's finger was almost cut off when he and another boy

were slapping the big metal doors shut. The plastic surgeon reattached his finger so well

that you couldn't even tell that it was almost cut off.

Kevin loved to play sports-baseball,basketball,football and track. He excelled in all of

these sports. He played PopWarner football 1998-2000.Basketball and track at school. He

started baseball 1998-2000. He was most proud of his All Star Game in 2004.

Kevin was also a Boy Scout, Troop 124. He attended Camp Geromino where he learned

many skills.

2003 Kevin suffered a seizure on his way to the first game of the season. He was rushed to

Phoenix baptist Hospital then transferred to Phoenix Children's Hospital. He was diagonised

with growing to fast for his heart. Hopefully, in time the small hole would heal.

Kevin loved Country and Western music. Parades were also a favorite of his. He would run

along the side of the Pinnacle Peak Restaurant float as they threw out pieces of steak. You

can't forget about Kevin and his drums. He played drums at Paseo Hills and Canyon grade

school. He loved to sing ,he would sing so much and so loud that the vein in his neck would

pop out.

Kevin loved to take apart and rebuild bicycles, One time he decided to make a 3wheeled

bike but he forgot to make it with only one chain. So with 2 chains that meant that both people

had to make sure that they both peddled at the same time. Kevin liked his "ghetto" bike as he

and Angie nicknamed it. To watch the two of them try to make this bike work was very funny but

with alot of patience and alot of work they both got it to work.

My favorite story is when Poppa was making grilled cheese sandwhiches-Kevin was asked if

he wanted a grilled cheese sandwhich and he replied No girl cheese-just a boy cheese. Kevin

especially loved Saturday mornings with Mema, they would clean out the refrigerator and all the

leftovers went into a large pot to simmer.Kevin would grab the tortillas and chow down.

Another favorite pasttime of Kevin's was to go to the Luke Air Force Base with Mema and watch

the jets fly over Northern ave., and lets not forget football. Kevin's sister Krystal was on the Cactus

High School Flagline and Kevin went to every football game. He would sit on the same row as Father

Bob and cheer the team on.

I will miss him and all the fun times we had.

Summer of 2004 Kevin was enrolled in the Peoria Fire Department class. 25 kids in his class and

only 3 of them-2 boys(one of them was Kevin) and 1 girl were successful at climbing the rope to the top

where they got to ring the bell. This was something that Kevin was very proud of.

Kevin loved his beads. He used them for every holiday.Kevin loved holidays especially Christmas

and the more lights to decorate with the better. He also liked to watch war movies with mema, and when

he was little he loved to watch the Power Rangers. He was just starting to learn of his Indian Hertiage.

Final thoughts: As I close this Tribute to Kevin let's not forget that 3 years ago Kevin saved his cousin

Tiffany from becoming another drowning victim only to be taken from us the same way. Mema would tell

Kevin Ugh, Ugh, Mosha-which means "I Love You" almost every night before going to bed.

From Mema: Ugh,Ugh,Mosha; Good Night Sweet Prince.

This Tribute was made by Mema to remember Kevin Lawrence McClure.

Kevin's Life

May 5, 2012

                                  July 17th, 1990 - April 2nd, 2005

You enter into this world a very happy beautiful boy. I didn't get to see you for 4 hours after you were born do to some minor problems you had with breathing. The Nurses and Doctors took you to NICU to watch over your little body to make sure you were going to be ok. After 4 hours of waiting to hear how you were doing the nurse came into my room and told me you were just fine and they were bringing you up to me. I held you close, loved and kissed you for a few hours before laying you down to sleep for the night. You were my new pride and joy. Once i got to go home your Mema and Papa picked us up to take us home. There you met your big sister Krystal your cousin Courtney and many other family members. My days were filled with joy and happiness taking care of you, Courtney, and Krystal. Not to mention my hands were full with the 3 of you. Krystal and Courtney always wanted to hold you and feed you and play with you but you were much to small for them to play with. As the years went on the days got easier. The 3 of you became so close to eachother that Mema nicknamed you all the KKK clan even tho Courtney started with a C it was Mema's special name. The 3 of you did many of things together. Mema would pick you all up in the morning and take you all to your little classes ( swimming and yes even dance ).
In 1993 i gave birth to your little brother Justin but sad he was born stillborn and we had to give him to god to take care of him. This was the year you met your other cousin Melody. The 2 of you got along well just wasn't as close as i wished you had been. Then in 1995 your other little brother Shane came into the world. The 2 of you grew close to eachother as well. I know there was 5 years between you but you always made time for your little brother. In 1996 your other cousin Tiffany came into the world. The 2 of you grew close together as years went by. Then in 1997 your other little brother Dustin was born. Who would ever of thought that the 2 of you would become so close like you were with Courtney and Krystal?
Well in August of 2004 Shane, Dustin, You and myself all got on a greyhound bus headed to Evansville, Indiana. Krystal stayed behind because she didn't want to leave her friends and highschool. She had alot going on during her highschool years. So off we went.... Once we got to Indiana you meet my boyfriend Kevin ( Now my husband ) and his family. Once we got to our new house there were alot of people that wanted to meet you. You played the shy boy new in town ( lol ). Two girls named Bille Jo and Holly were there to meet you. They hid behind their mom as you hid behind me. Once you all stopped being shy you starting talking. As the days went on the 3 of you become really good friends. These girls (You called them your sisters) showed you around Evansville and had you meet alot of their friends. You even had a crush on Billie Jo. You and Holly grew to become best friends and hung out on a daily basis. My house became the teenage hang out (lol) which i didn't mind as this way i knew you all were safe and stayed out of trouble.
Well April 2nd 2005 , you gave me a hug and told me you were going to play basketball by Holly and Billie Jo's house. Only to get a very sad phone call about an hour after you left the house. There was this woman on the other end of the phone telling me that she thinks its my son that may have drowned at Garvin Park. She told me Firecrews and police were on the scene working on you. I rushed to the park and tried to run down where you were. A police woman stopped me and was asking me questions about you. I stood in disbelief not wanting to believe that was you laying on the ground. Kevin and I was put in a poilce car and taken to the hospital where they had rushed you off in an ambulance. We were put in a room with a bunch of your friends and people you called family. While we all sat there waiting on the doctors to come in and tell us the news we said a few prayers praying for the best. I called home back in Arizona to tell the family what was going on. The doctors came in and told us the sad news that you didn't make it. I was very sad and hurt when I heard the news. The child I gave life to had been taken from me that day. You went home to be with Jesus and all the beautiful angels up above. You may be gone but you are never forgotten you will live in my heart and soul forever and always. I Love You Kevin Lawrence McClure Rest in Peace my sweet angel until we meet again
