Reginald G. Sheppard - Resolution

August 7, 2012

In Loving Memory of Reginald G. Sheppard, Jr.

Whereas, Reginald Sheppard, Jr. was a faithful member of Christ Community Fellowship Church where he served as drummer, sound engineer and youth assistant.

Reginald Sheppard, Jr. -  He was affectionately known as Reggie, Junior and brother dear.  Junior was full of life.  From the time that he entered this world he had a contagious smile.  The continence of his face always went from smiling to laughter.  Junior was very seldom in a bad mood.  He was a jokester from a very young age.  I remember him playing a joke on Mike and Jorrell and immediately running into the arms of his brother Marcus to escape their wrath.   Marcus would stop the boys by tackling all three.

Junior was not afraid to be himself, regardless of how others felt about him or his self-expression.  Junior would show up at church with colors so bright that you wanted to pull out sun glasses in order to look at him.  If that wasn’t bad enough he would wear shoes to match.  That’s right, if Junior had on red, yellow, black and white, the shoes were red, yellow black and white.

When Junior worked as the sound engineer, often he could be seen multi-tasking.  He would be listening to the preacher, recording the service and texting or talking on his cell phone at the same time.  He wanted to make sure that he didn’t miss a beat with his social life.

Junior often helped with the youth ministry.  He was a good worker, once you caught up with him.  Yes, when he would see me, the shoes of many colors would take off.  He would tell his mom, “I know when Sis. Livingston comes she is going to put us to work”.  So the only sensible thing to do was to run and hide.

Be it resolved that we will keep the loving memory and the contagious smile of Reginald G. Sheppard, Jr. in our hearts.  Kirk Franklin wrote a song and the words are “you look so much better when you smile”, so remember Reggie and smile.

We are resolved to bring up our children in the fear and the admonition of God.  Train them up so that when they are old they will not depart.  Love them and know that they are not perfect, nor are we.  For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son so that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Be it further resolved that we will keep the Sheppard family in our thoughts and prayers.  We want you all to know that we love you and will be there for you.  Do not hesitate to call upon us.

I request that a copy of the resolution be given to the family and a copy placed in the church records.

Respectfully submitted by Adrienne Livingston on behalf of Christ Community Fellowship Church

Reginald Sheppard, Sr.- Pastor
