Her Life

Ruthie

April 3, 2012

Ruthie was born on August 31,1951 in Denver, Colorado to Bertha Hendershott and Lyle Pfarr.  She grew up in the Boulder and Nederland area endlessly fishing and exploring the mountains and discovering the beautiful world around her.  She always played in rivers and creeks to her mother's dismay!

As a teen, Ruthie moved to California then returned to Colorado in her early 20's where she discovered her new life in Christ.

At age 31, she joined South Adams County Water and Sanitation District as a Meter Reader.  She retired as a Lead Field Service Representative on January 13, 2012. During her 29 years of service to the Water District she took every opportunity to witness and lead people to the Lord.

Ruthie developed numerous friends and close relationships that she carried with her throughout her life.  She never knew a stranger and considered everyone a friend!

In 2003, Ruthie and her life-long closest friend, Sandy, felt it was time to find a new family of God and started attending Northrock Church (formerly Grace Church) where she served as an Usher and Greeter always sharing her infamous "Ruthie Hugs" and smile.  Ruthie freely gave prayer, encouragement and love to everyone she came in contact with.

Ruthie loved to study the Bible, fish, explore the mountains collecting rocks, working in her garden and spending time with her dogs. Some of Ruthie's favorite things were her Christian book library, elephant collection, fire hydrant collection and her rocks!  Ruthie loved music and would sing at the the top of her lungs even when she was out of tune, with Amazing Grace being one of her favorites!

Ruthie is survived by her closest life-long friend, Sandy Thomas, Sisters Bertha Hudson and Mable Hendershott, Neice Tina Bracey, Nephew Robert Bracey, Nephew Thomas Bracey, Neice Heather Bracey, Great Newphew Thomas Bracey Jr., Great Neices Brandy and Bridget Bracey and her beloved pups Vegas, Bouncer and Precious.
