Shina, you were a cherished friend, devoted brother, and esteemed medical professional whose recent passing has left a profound void in our hearts.

Your presence illuminated every room you entered, your kindness radiating warmth to all fortunate enough to know you. As an old classmate, you embodied the essence of camaraderie, always eager to reconnect and share in life's joys and challenges.

A true beacon of compassion, you lived your life in service to others, both as a dedicated physician and as a steadfast friend. Your genuine concern for the well-being of those around you was evident in every interaction, your gentle demeanor offering solace and support to all in need.

Your ability to effortlessly engage in conversation, drawing others in with your genuine interest and thoughtful inquiries, was a testament to your innate generosity of spirit. You had a rare gift for making everyone feel valued and heard, enriching the lives of those fortunate enough to cross your path.

A devoted family man, you cherished your loved ones above all else, finding joy and fulfillment in the bonds of kinship. Your love knew no bounds, and your legacy of love and devotion will endure as a guiding light for generations to come.

Though you may be gone from our midst, the memory of your kindness, your wisdom, and your unwavering friendship will forever remain etched in our hearts. You will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing you, your absence leaving a void that can never be filled.

In honoring Shina's memory, let us strive to embody the same spirit of compassion, generosity, and love that he so beautifully exemplified. Shina, you will be dearly missed, but never forgotten. I thank God immensely for gifting you to us. The LORD rest your soul, comfort and strengthen your loved ones. Amen.

Our lives and families mirrored each other.

I spoke with him about four days before he passed on. He was muttering some faint and unintelligible words. I was happy, thinking he was improving on his speech therapy, not knowing that it was the last time I would speak with him.

We went through a bumpy ride in life together.

We stayed together in my dad's house in Sango, Ibadan, while we were in the School of Basic Studies at The Polytechnic Ibadan Ibadan. Our classmate, Lash, was also with us.

He stayed with my late mum in our family house at Ayeye for years.

He never forgot these rough days as he made it a duty to regularly send money to my mum.

I mentored his immediate younger brother, who was with me for several years at the University of Lagos and is now a professor of electrical engineering at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, while he also mentored my immediate younger brother, who today is also a professor of medicine in South Africa.

We used to spend nights together in his late dad's house in Bode - Molete years back before he decided to leave the house for good.

He told my mum about his house in Ibadan before I knew. His daughter and mine graduated with degrees medicine last year. I can go on and on.

He was an unassuming and easy-going man of friendly disposition.

The good thing is that he lived a fulfilled life.

Adieu, my cousin, friend, and classmate. May

May Allah swt grant you Aljaanah Firdaus.

Alheri Hospital at Bolori was the first hospital I worked when I came to Maiduguri. I noticed that you were very generous to the residents of the area , you hardly charge them and those you charge do not pay in full. I had to make a lot of changes and my joy then was that you listened to me. I will not forget your bettle Volkswagen car, you once told me that your children's education was more important to you than changing your car then. We were always chatting on health issues especially health insurance operations. When I organised a training for health care providers, you sent one of your staff and to my surprise you paid the training fees. Whenever I have any financial challenge and I call you, you respond to me promptly. The Borno State National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) and HMOs will definitely miss you for your immense contributions. Was waiting for you to recover so we can discuss the new NHIA Operational Guidelines. You were a blessing to my family. You were a friend or father in need and indeed. Your goal was always to take care of the sick irrespective of their financial status. The enrolles will miss you. Goodnight daddy Dr Ojewale, Alheri hospital will blossom. I will continue to give my support. May your soul rest in peace and the Lord comfort your family. Adieu

Abbas,as I usually call you, hmmm!
You were LOVED by ALL of us, your classmates but we never knew you will leave us so soon. I looked around me at the news of your death and life makes no meaning to me anymore! Words are not enough to express my deeply heart felt grief but what I can finally say, which you cannot hear is GOODNIGHT my dear secondary school classmate, friend and brother!
I shall, no doubt, forever miss you! May your gentle soul rest in peace. Amen.

Abass Adesina Ojewale, you came, you saw, and played your part gloriously...everybody that knew you will not forget how gentle and loving you were...available to keep the fellowship flowing, keeping together than scattering, building blocks and mending fences, and saying how important to spend the short time here in peace with all men...you put your skills as a medical doctor out to all...we miss you..

Just yesterday afternoon, Dókítà, I sent a message to you, which I don't know if you saw, concluding that you should Arise and Shine, only to receive a shocking call this morning of your transition to eternity.
This has cast a pall of darkness on our set's platform: because you were a shining light.
You were everyone's cheerleader.
You were a peace-loving friend and brother.
You wanted us to take care of our health.
So shocking then that the cowardly death used the agent of sickness to snatch you away from us.
May your soul find peace.
May we, your family and friends, be at peace, sooner or later, that we will not meet again in the physical. Sùn ree ö, Dókítà.
