Oh! My dear Pastor Toks Olorunnimbe.
I stumbled upon the news of your passing just yesterday night, unfortunately even after your burial hence could not dash down to Lagos to pay my last respects.
But I kept vigil overnight for you, for you were a wonderful person, and words are not enough to say how much you meant to me, and how much I will miss you.
Rest in Peace Sir.
Shalom

Pastor was precious on many fronts. First of all, his genuine love for God was open and central to his ministry and relationships. He was kind, very open and so plain that it was difficult, if not impossible, to misunderstand him.
On another level, considering the office he held in the mission and the resultant associations, he was so simple and self effacing that it's often difficult to understand. In all, he was such a blessing to the church in the way he touched lives in general and on the personal level.
My family was privileged to have made his association and we cherish his memory. We miss him and pray that God will uphold mummy and the rest of the family and give them the grace to uphold and build upon the legacy of Daddy Olorunnimbe.
He was a father indeed.

We are blessed to have had pastor Tokunbo as an inlaw, through our sibling , Barrister Eniola Idowu Williams nee Taiwo, mother of Bode williams.
Bode is the husband of Sayo williams (nee Olorunimbe) Daughter of Late Pastor Tokunbo.
Sayo's sterling virtues as a christian woman , is a testament and perfect reflection of the life and times of Pastor Tokunbo, a true christian role model , a Godly Dad and an outstanding man of God with undoubtable integrity.
Without doubt, the late Pastor Olorunnimbe managed his household with the Christian values of love and humility,
May the Lord give the entire Olorunimbe family , the fortitude and peace to bear pain of departure of Pastor Adetokunbo Olorunnimbe
to heaven in Jesus name.
We must not mourn as those who have no hope...1Thes 4 vs 13-18
Amen

My dear Daddy, gone so suddenly and so soon. I know that I'm not to sorrow as those without hope but your passing to glory hurts so much and my heart is uncontrollably very sorrowful. In your passing I have lost a confidant, mentor, benefactor, encourager, my Pastor, friend and Father. How I wish that I had made more time available to be with you to glean more of your wisdom, gentleness and the special grace of God upon your life.
Why you had to leave so soon, I shall understand better by and by.
I love and miss you so much and by God's grace I will labour more and live by the day for the Lord just as you did so that by divine mercy I will enter into His rest just as you have.
Sleep on my Daddy until we see again on the resurrection morning.

Olorunnimbe is a child of God through and through. He helped me get the C of O of our home. He was for real. Money was certainly not his god. He was a sharp contrast to the fakery and quackery that are ten a kobo in our Mission today. His dedication, like those of Pastors Omorodion and Jide Owotori (now in the US) were a great asset to the ushering department at the National Headquarters, Ebute Metta !
No one forced them to be dedicated. They were spontaneous in their dedication - can dedication be truly forced down the throats of people, without them throwing up?
They are some of the real heroes of the growth of our dear Mission.
O for more assets like Tokunbo Olorunnimbe! The first born of a Muslim judge father. He was born with the proverbial silver spoon in his mouth but he was so secure he never tried to rub in his enviable pedigree. Bragging is the pastime of riffraffs. He went full time in 2000, walking away from his thriving law practice at Dolphin Estate - his Muslim dad must have given up any attempts to return him to Islam on that note!
His love for the G.O was so great that he could go hungry just to hear daddy’s messages. Eye service was far from his goal in life.
He spoke with candour each time he had to. His role as secretary to the G.O. most likely made it unnecessary for the G.O. to go head hunting for another secretary for the 19 years they worked together. This must be underscored because 19 years in an office as busy as daddy’s is not a walk in the park. He neither used his connection with daddy for personal gain nor for accelerating the elevations of his buddies! We all are players in Church Politics - some for the right reasons and others for less than noble reasons. My dear friend and Pastor Olorunnimbe was a player in Church Politics with the noblest of motives!
We will not sorrow like unbelievers but a shining star just took leave of us.
The Mission will sorely miss him!

To God alone be the glory, it's a bit challenging (in a little space and time) writing about a leader, brother, father, Pastor, amongst the many parts he's played in my life and that of my family, an epitome of righteousness, difficult to fault, an epistle you can read, humble, never carried his position in his actions, forthright, very disciplined, family man who cherished the home, and above all humane; he appreciates the fact that grace is not same for everyone hence would tap into the grace in individual lives to give assignments, took challenges of people as his own, very generous, Spirit filled and guided, there were instances we had agreed on some decisions, only for us after meeting with him (in his depth of Godly wisdom) we now realize how folly those decisions were, I can go on and on, time and space will sure fail me, his leadership style was different, had Faith that it was just doable, dogged, sincere, the body of Christ has sure lost a general who is a gain for heaven, we're persuaded that we'll see again and we're comforted by the words in 1 Thes 4:14-18, I'll forever thank God for bringing Pastor Adetokunbo Abayomi Olorunnimbe along my path as destiny helper, He'll surely be forever missed. Shalom.

As sudden and shocking this may be, we can't but thank God for His grace upon his life.
His style of leadership is highly exemplary, his ability to render power to nothing even when the power to do and undo is at his disposition.
Quiet, humble, articulate , easy going, Indefatigable, spirit filled, a good listener , a loyal servant, a simple man that goes about his daily duties barely unnoticed.

A true man of God with a difference, the history of RCCG can't be complete without mentioning you. God sent, God Chosen, God ordained. Pre destined to lead. We love you but not as much as God does.
Adieu my unique NHU.

This is the FINAL COPY
Our Leader Has Gone Ahead
While it is no longer news that Pastor Adetokunbo Olorunnimbe, the Special Assistant to the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has passed on, the good news is that you have gone ahead to also help prepare a place for us with our Maker.
Although you left so suddenly, Daddy, we are also consoled by the certain knowledge that one day, we shall all gather at the feet of our Lord Jesus Christ, to part no more.
Our dear gentle & able National Head Usher, words fail us at this moment at your shocking passage at the tender age of 60 years, but we also fondly recall your Holy Spirit-inspired leadership at the helm of affairs of the Ushering Department worldwide. In our own Region, we consistently felt your impact and benefitted from your famed benevolence.
Daddy Toks, we will forever cherish the time you spent with us here on Earth, and the noble strides you made and achieved while you led us in the service of the Lord as ushers in His vineyard.
We are also assured that, as a loving husband, father and grandfather, our God will surely console your wife, children and the family you left behind.
Good night, Daddy, rest in peace in the warm embrace of our Lord till we all meet one day. God bless you, Sir.

Pastor Toks! We met at the RCCG Hq in 1993, we both attended Bible College together and were both Ushers. It was then I discovered you were married to Dupe who happened to be my darling sister (we attended St Anne's Schl, Ibadan together)
One thing that struck me about you was your determination to make heaven at all costs. You once told me (after we lost a pastor in an air crash) that how you die is irrelevant, but making heaven is key!. Your entire life reflected it. You were a thoroughbred child of God, transparently honest, very cultured and so respectful, yet very firm.
I know you are in heaven and already dancing with the angels. Enjoy your deserved rest till we meet on the Ressurection morning. Shalom!

Words and tears failed me to have completed this tribute since your passing to glory.

Pastor Adetokunbo Abayomi Olorunnimbe, Earth's great loss but Heaven's glorious gain.

Hmnnnnn, A great Akokite per excellence, your dress sense made the guys in GQ magazine jealous, your sharp dressing and good looks did not however underscore your unrepentant love for God, pursuit of holiness, sacrificial and empathetic love for humanity and nature, and also your selfless pursuit and service to your Lord and Saviour. I recall that while driving you home from church, I expressed my absolute agreement with a mutual acquaintance about your carefree selflessness towards others even to your hurt sometimes, you were quiet for awhile then you responded "my brother, are you sure that I'm still not here because of these little works that i've been enabled to do" and so I held my peace for the rest of our journey while I was lost in deep thoughts about what I had just heard"

A musical group called the Temptations way back in the 80s caught a revelation of Pastor Toks's life and sang "I'll keep my light in my window". Every word penned and sculpted Pastor's very life and passion..... With lyrics like "I feel so good when I help a fellow man, so I'll keep my light in my window.

Dear Dad, I miss you daily and I remember that you often told us "that you cannot be right in disobedience neither can you be wrong in obedience".

Rest on my Dad, Pastor, Dearest Friend, Benefactor, and the one who loved me undeniably. You are so loved and much more sore missed. Rest on God's general till we meet to part no more.
