Life of Alfredo Jesus Guerrero

Alfredo Jesse Guerrero was born June 3, 1975 in Hanover, Pennsylvania. Alfredo (Freddie) was a passionate man. He was passionate about his family and they were his pride. He was passionate about his friends and loved making them laugh. He was passionate about sweets, and loved food. He ended many dinner prayers with “and make it taste really good.” He was passionate about the Pittsburgh Steelers and about being a prankster and bringing a smile to others’ faces. He was also passionate about helping anyone in a time of need, even if he himself probably needed help more. Above all, he was passionate about serving God and how Jesus changed his life. Even in his last days, he spoke of lessons from the Bible and of peace and faith. You could often find him at home reading the Bible or books on faith and how to grow it. He had the kind of faith that could move mountains, and that is what he did. He battled Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), beating it and putting it into remission, which gave him a second chance at life. He used this chance well, marrying the love of his life, and putting those days to good use, creating many fond memories with friends and family, and living a life of honor. He was diagnosed with a second type of cancer, a sarcoma in his leg. He endured multiple surgeries, chemo, and radiation, and refused to give up, telling people he wasn’t going anywhere, and that he was a Guerrero, which means “warrior” in Spanish. And he was a warrior for others, for his family, and for God.
Alfredo is survived by his Dad, Alfredo and wife, Maria; his loving wife, Christina Guerrero; his children, Joel Aguirre, Tristian Guerrero, Cassandra Aguirre, Gynavie Guerrero, Samantha Guerrero and Joseph Arratia; his grandchild, Vanellope Martinez; his brother, Martin Guerrero and wife Alonna; his niece, Grace Guerrero; his nephew, Isaiah Guerrero; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ben and Yolanda Mendoza; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jorge and Stephanie Hernandez along with his many aunts, uncles, cousins and other loving family members and friends.

Alfredo is preceded in death by his mother, Anna Cruz Thamez.

This is the legacy he leaves for us. And although we know that here on Earth we are missing the huge presence of his love, to be absent in the flesh is to be present in the Lord. Amen!
