Tributes
Leave a tributeJennifer and I went to Samurai for your birthday. I had your favorite meal (miso soup, California roll, steak teriyaki, rice, and shrimp & vegetable tempura). It was delicious! We will have a piece of German Chocolate cake later tonight. I hope you can see the beautiful roses I bought for your birthday. They have a beautiful fragrance.
Peace be with you. Love you always and forever. Cindy XXXOOO
How are you? Where are you? Ever since I had that dream that you told me heaven was a distinct place I feel like I haven't felt your spirit - though there have been some strange things...I miss you and still feel it is unreal that you are not here.
With love,
Jennifer
and when she turns to smile, place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for awhile. Because remembering Alison is easy, I do it every day, but there's an ache within my heart that will never go away.
You have done wonderful work on this beautiful tribute to your mother and sister, Alison. It's so beautiful and keeps her spirit alive forever. My mother and I enjoyed attending Alison's memorial a few weekends ago, and we are praying for the repose of her soul. It was also wonderful to see you and the rest of your family again, despite the sad circumstances. Just wish we had seen Alison more recently. She was a corker, and we always enjoyed visiting her. May she rest in peace and eternal light, and may God comfort you and your family.
Allison was always one of my favorite people from the time she was a baby until her passing. Her personality was wonderful and gave us lots of reasons to love her.
hopefully she is at peace and free of pain.
Will love you always!!!
Bobbie
Our joys will be greater
Our love will be deeper
Our lives will be fuller
Because we shared your moment
Desiree wasn't able to make it on Saturday, but she sent this beautiful note over, which Andrea read at your celebration of life.
Jen and I became friends in junior high, so it was probably around then that I met Alison. I don't have memories of our first meeting together but I do remember that I always felt welcomed and part of the family whenever I stopped by her place. Growing up, I didn't go to a lot of friends' houses. I had a big family with lots of cousins, so I would say Jen is one of the first friend's I had that invited me into her life. When I think of Alison, I think of her laugh. The carefree and uninhibited laugh. It's contagious, and I remember that even in a heated debated with her and teenage Jen, she would crack the tension with her laugh, and Jen would start laughing too. Alison always made me feel welcomed at her home by asking me questions, feeding me, letting me sleepover and being herself. She would say what's on her mind, sharing her thoughts and opinion without filter, and that is so refreshing. I always felt like I could tell her anything. I feel so privileged to have Alison be a part of my childhood memories and I will always remember her....and her laugh
Thank you for being a great family friend. It's unfortunate you had to leave us too soon. You will be greatly missed and we will meet again someday. RIP.

Puppy Love
Alison was a big fan of Donny Osmond when she was young (age 12 - 13). Alison had a poster of Donny Osmond over her bed, and would give Donny a kiss goodnight when she went to bed. We lived in Alexandria, Virginia at the time (1972), and Alison and I shared a bedroom downstairs near our rec room. I remember Alison wanting to play Donny's music and me wanting her to take the music off so we could go to sleep.
I remember that Alison liked the song Puppy Love:

and the song Go Away Little Girl:

Alison and I went to an Osmond family concert at the State Fair in Allentown, Pennsylvania, on August 6, 1972. I remember that it was a lot of fun, and of course Alison was so happy to see Donny Osmond in concert.
In 1976/1977 while we lived in Newport, Rhode Island, and Coronado, California, Alison and I would watch the Donny and Marie tv show (Marie was a little bit country and Donny was a little bit rock n roll):

Alison would love it that Mom and Dad are now in Las Vegas at the Donny & Marie Show (Flamingo Hotel 1/22/2015) - more than 42 years after Alison and I saw the Osmonds in concert at the State Fair in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
I found a picture that Alison had of Donny Osmond (it might have been a picture of the poster over Alison's bed). At the Celebration of Life we had for Alison on March 1, 2014, we displayed the picture of Donny Osmond along with a bouquet of Alison's flower pens. We also played a short clip of Donny's song Puppy Love. Memories!
Sleep talking
I remember one time I was at home, either in my teens or early 20s, and I heard my mom call out my name from her bedroom so I went to double check what she needed. When I got to her room the lights were off and I heard her sleepily say "Get me a cup of coffee" however it was nighttime and I wasn't sure why she would want a cup late at night. I looked a bit closer and realized she was talking in her sleep. Even in her sleep she had wanted her coffee!
Reiko's Visit
During Reiko's visit from Tokyo I gave her a small bell that Alison would have wanted her to have. It is a very special bell that had drawings of Mount Fuji and a Kyoto temple. Reiko rang the bell and said "Alison thank you - I remember you."
I also showed Reiko and her friend Norie two flower pen bouquets with the flower pens Alison made and they thought they were beautiful.
