Andy lived life to the fullest and met many amazing people along the way.  He was dedicated to all that he did and he achieved great things professionally and personally.  He meant the world to us as a family and we hope that this virtual memorial can be a place for us all to leave a tribute or add a story.  After all, he was a big part of our world and chances are he was a big part of yours too.

Andy, I am deeply saddened by your passing. Your kind heart, passion and focus on the good of the company will be never be replaced. I will miss our chats about the "real" football and while you won't be a text message away when Croatia plays England at the Euros, I am sure you will be watching in spirit.

Mandy, Taylah and Carli, may peace and comfort find you during this difficult time.

VALE ANDY! Gone but never be forgotten.

Over the years I have always found Andy to be one of the most genuine people I have worked with. His leadership, integrity and passion for his team and our members is nothing short of inspirational. Knowing how busy he was, I appreciate every minute he spared to say hello and ask how I was doing, even when I was no longer a member of his team. Andy always made me feel welcome and treated me as an equal, and I learned so much from him in every interaction, meeting or conversation that we had.

I give my thoughts, prayers and wishes to you Mandy and your girls for the future. Andy will be sorely missed and leaves a legacy here that I hope those of us who are left behind can do justice to uphold

Andy, I fondly remember when I first started at GMHBA you took the time to meet me & welcome me to the Company. I will always remember this kindness fondly. Loved catching up at CEO Comms & Branch Manager meetings where you always made time to talk with me & have a laugh. You will be missed & the world is just a little sadder with you not in it.

I recently saw Andy at the Epworth (I was there having had a procedure and was a bit groggy). He was really kind and enquired as to how I was making sure I was ok. I didn't know Andy as well as other people and so it was really kind of him to enquire. From what I did know of him he was an intelligent, insightful man who had the best of intentions for everyone. My condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time compounded by a pandemic. - Leida

My fondest memories of Andy are how much he loved his girls and Mandy. We often talked about what they were up to and how school was going.
Andy started with GMHBA a couple of months before me and it has been such a great pleasure to working under him and seeing him succeed in his career. He greeted everyone with a great smile and made you feel valued and I will always be thankful that Andy was part of my life.
Love and prayers to Mandy and the girls.

Andy, I am so sad to hear the news of your passing. You made my days at GMHBA a pleasure. Always coming and having a little chat/banter and lightening the mood in the call centre and offering such support on those tough calls. Always asking about the family when i ran into you out and about, even after i left the company. Always with a lovely smile on your face! I am heartbroken for your family. I will keep them in my prayers. RIP my friend.

My deepest condolences to Mandy, the girls and family. I had the fortune and honor to call Andy my friend and my Manager. Andy inherited the role of Manager of the GMHBA Sales Team, not an easy role at the time , however under his leadership the team achieved continued success and forged long lasting relationships. During my time reporting to Andy I had to deal with serious personal health issues and wondered at times if my lengthy career at GMHBA was coming to a end. During this period of time Andy's only concern was about my health & wellbeing. I will always remember his genuine concern and support that assisted my recovery for which I will be forever grateful. Andy cared for his team, about their wellbeing and that of their families, he led by example and his caring nature and leadership will be sadly missed by his GMHBA family.

I really don't know what to say but that you are one of the nicest, kindest and funny people I have ever met so to have you as my Uncle makes me extremely proud. Even though you live thousands of miles away,we have always talked to our kids about what a great man you are. Kian and Jaymie have said that this shouldn't have happened to their Uncle Bear because he is just awesome. Our thoughts are with you all especially my Auntie Mandy and the girls. Andy did tell me that he is so proud of you all and he is super proud of his girls and how strong they are. We will all miss you so much but will never forget you.

Dear Mandy, Taylah and Carli,
Words will never express how devastated we are for your loss. Andy was such a wonderful man, an adoring husband and father to you and his beautiful girls.
Our favourite memory was your wedding day. What an incredible day and watching Andy see you walk down the isle was so beautiful, he was bursting with pride.
Andy was loved by everyone and it’s easy to see why, he was just a great guy.
Hold onto that love Mandy and wrap it tightly around your girls and know that so many people in your lives are wrapping their love around you now.
Rest peacefully Andy.

Words cannot describe how much I truly appreciated Andy, his smiling face, his mentorship and even the way he made me feel, the confidence I felt simply by him just believing in me. A truly phenomenal man, kind-hearted, genuine and passionate are only a couple of words I can share. To Andy's beautiful wife and girls, you should be so very proud, Andy touched the lives of many and it was a real honour to know him.

Andy I don't even know what to say I'm so saddened to hear this news. You truly were one of kind. You were and always will be a massive part of my time at GMHBA, from working in the call centre and you telling me I was talking to much and get back to work haha to then moving into the branches and always checking in to see how I was and ask how my family were doing. Nothing was ever to much trouble for you. As I said in my last email to you "you truly are one of our Great leaders at GMHBA" Andy you are going to be missed around the GMHBA office. My heart is broken for your family and friends. Rest in Peace Andy xo

Andy is such an important part of the GMHBA family. He loved getting involved and was always up for a chat. Andy always put people first and foremost in any decision he made whether it be advocating for staff or members...this spoke to the person he was at heart. Will very much miss him at GMHBA.

Sending thoughts and prayers to his family and friends at this time.

Andy it was a pleasure to have known you.Always the first person to offer you a beer or some advice about your golf game. I will never forget your expression at your 50th birthday when the girls presented you with your guitar. You have pressed in a lot of memories with your family and hearing of the shenanigans on your camping trips just let's me know how much you were loved. Mandy and girls you have lost a wonderful husband/father and everybody else a wonderful friend but be rest assured I know he will be looking over mainly his three girls but all of his friends as well.
RIP Andy.

Andy always made a point to walk around and keep up with us all and what was happening with everyone in the office. He put me onto 'the inappropriate gift co' when I was searching for unusual Christmas presents back in 2018. Last year when I was going overseas we were talking about football games and 'the old firm' which made him laugh that someone here knew about it. One of the last conversations before he got sick he was talking about his next trip home. He was always upbeat and will be greatly missed. While I did email him a short time ago as I didn't want to bombard him just as he left, but wish I had done it sooner. My heart aches for his family and friends.

Andy was always so pleasant and friendly. He was always so easy to talk to about our family lives or work life. He always seemed to make time for his broader team. It never felt like you were talking to your big boss. Andy was just an all round genuine nice person who will be sadly missed. Thinking of Andy's family and friends during this difficult time.

When Andy found out I was born in Leicester, he would chat about his days back there and tell me all about Leicester. He would ask me "how is your dad going?" even though they had never met. Andy gave my dad a website to go to and see posts & photo's from people of Leicester and my dad thought this was wonderful, especially when dad caught up with an old friend from Leicester on this site. Andy always treated you as an equal and made time to have a quick chat. He was a real people person and will be greatly missed. I will miss our Leicester chats........ RIP Andy.

I wrote to Andy only recently, this is what I said..

Hey Andy,

Been a few weeks since you've finished up at GMHBA and it was always my intention to write to you. How has time away been?

I hope you're doing well, especially your health, family and general wellbeing, mentally/physically. Good on you for making the bold decision to remove yourself from a job, even if it was reluctant - and focus on you.

You should be extremely proud of your work at GMHBA. You have been a person I admired with your transparency, eagerness to iron out problems and do the right thing for staff and customers. I have always enjoyed how you call it as it is. Definitely a massive loss to our management department.

Naturally, I hope to see you around (when we can move around)!
Hopefully keep in touch!

.... I'm so saddened to hear of your passing, taken way too soon. I wish his family and friends, and those close to him all the very best, sending them my thoughts.

Andy was a truly lovely person. I always enjoyed chatting to him about the UK being a fellow expat myself. I also enjoyed chatting to him about dogs (we both had some memorable experiences with some special ones in our lives). I am saddened to hear he lost his battle and wish the very best to his family for the future. I am sure you have some cherished memories of the good times with this lovely man.

Dear Mandy, Taylah and Carli,

I've only recently learnt of Andy's passing and want to send my sincere condolences to you.

Working for Andy as his EA back in the day meant we had a blend of a professional and personal relationship. Every Monday morning I loved sitting in his office, and listening to him recap his weekends, how he spent them with you, what was next on the project list, and the general banter that we would always share. He would always have such a smile on his face when he spoke of his family.

It's been a long time since I worked for Andy, but I still remember the many insights he offered. He was truly encouraging and wanted to see everyone in their life follow their passion and succeed. I have taken so much of what he taught me into my career.

I'll look back at my time working for Andy with even more regard now, and hold onto all the spur of the moment, in the street chats we found ourselves in when crossing paths in Geelong.

VALE Andy.

Geelong Memorial Park

Hi everyone,
We have arranged a memorial site for Andy at the Geelong Memorial Park & Crematorium in Burvilles Road Armstrong Creek.  The exact location is Crescent Garden - SG - Bed 2 - Position 158 (GMP-CRES-SG-2-302-158). When you drive into the Park you turn left at the roundabout and park in the car park on the right hand side.  Walk across the road opposite the car park down the gravel path closest to the entrance and head to the first garden bed on the left.  The girls and I felt this was the perfect spot as its so peaceful and is surrounded by native plants & birds.

On 17 November 2020, Andy was admitted to hospital following his first round of chemotherapy.  That same day Samuel Johnston was fundraising for Love Your Sister and was holding the event at Rocklea Farm.  Our good friend Nathan Scott was singing that day and we had jumped onboard to get as many friends there as we could in light of Andy's recent diagnosis.  Better still, Andy gave Nathan his Cole Clark guitar to play.  That morning, Andy couldn't get out of bed and finally conceded we head into emergency at The Epworth.  We thought Andy would be re-hydrated and that we would be sent on our way.  We we adamant and quite vocal that we had an important event to get to that afternoon, however on Dr's advice Andy was admitted (he stayed for 10 days) and I stayed by his side.  Rumour has it that it was an emotional day for all our friends and family who still went and Andy was touched by it all but so devastated that we didn't get there.

In true Nathan fashion we received this message from Samuel Johnston this morning.  For those of you who don't know, Sam lost his sister Connie to cancer and has been on a mission to raise much needed funds throughout her journey and beyond.  His mission, "to go to town, for two years, to build a critical mass, for personalised treatment for every new cancer patient, whatever the cancer, wherever they live".  He is a a Gold Logie winning actor and Australian of the Year 2018.  You can see why........

Well Andy where do I start?....
The Batchelor pad in Bembridge Crt (Nottingham) It sure was!! A wall devoted to empty beer cans stacked high, a motorbike in bits in the hallway & two crazy but loveable cats Sophie Cretin & Arnold.  We had plenty of laughs along the way starting right back when we all went to see the rather rude but highly entertaining comic “Chubby Brown”. We met him afterwards at an Indian restaurant. Oh Andy you could cook a mean curry, especially those camping trips up on the Murray River. Every Boxing Day a crowd of us couldn’t wait to get set up at our usual spot for the week at “The Log” site in Echuka. Such fun!
“Bungawarra” (Anakie) Yours & Mandy’s fabulous home for countless get togethers, dress up party’s, & Carole’s 60th birthday party. Say no more!!  Watching the sun go down over the Anakie Hills with a drink in hand sitting on the old railway cart or round the fire playing top row bottom row eating jelly snakes & talking bollocks!   There was occasionally a new addition to the Woolley fold when Mandy had been out driving, I’m sure she’d become a lamb rustler! Re-homing lambs that had strayed a little too far, she’d pick them up & take them home! Lambert, Squinty to say the least plus more! Your mint garden was growing! Lol What a menagerie with Sophie doggo & Simba the cat. Now reunited with your devoted golden girl she’ll be by your side.
It was such a honour to be one of your bridesmaids in your wedding & what a fabulous day it was!.   Taylah & Carli then came along, your beautiful girls, Ive had the privilege to watch them grow into two gorgeous young ladies.
You was a master of Nick names, every friend had one!   The biggest of smiles & infectious laughter. But what stands out the most is the devotion & love for Mandy, the love for life and the eternal love for your girls!.
Gone way too early... so with heavy heart I’ll say goodbye (Ta-rah me duck)
Fly High Andy with guitar in hand.
Shine Bright!
