Mr. Gordon was born Friday, February 28, 1930, in Coosa County, Alabama, the son of the late Minard Leon and Jewell Smith Gordon. He was a Korean War Veteran and retired from Mead Packaging in Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Gordon was a devout Christian and a member of the Masonic Lodge of Lanett. His passions were fishing, camping and Alabama football.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years Cleo Sara Gordon; one blessed daughter, Teresa A. Puckett of Sharpsburg; his grandson, Matthew Adam Puckett with whom he enjoyed fishing; his granddaughter Brittany Rae Ann Puckett, who loved and cherished her “Paw Paw” and assisted in his care for the last 2 years; his sisters, Laura May Knight, Janice Bradley, Mary Nell Brown and Ellen Bennett. Mr. Gordon was preceded in death by his infant son Michael Wendell Gordon who passed away at birth; his brothers, Eulice Gordon and Mather Leon Gordon; and his sister, Myrtle Edwards.
