Arthur John Reeson was born August 23, 1920 on the family farm near Beemer to John and Mary (Buerman) Reeson. Art attended country school and Guardian Angels School. On April 11, 1944, Art married Mary Ann Wiesen at Holy Cross Catholic Church at Beemer. The couple farmed north of West Point, retiring and moving into West Point in 1997.

Art was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, past President of the Cuming County Feeders and served as their State and National Delegate, served on the Logan Township Board, Guardian Angels School Board, and the Pork Producers.

Art was a long-time farmer and livestock feeder in Cuming County. He loved playing cards, putting jigsaw puzzles together, and watching baseball games. Many summer evenings were spent playing softball with his children, and many Saturday evenings were spent dancing at area ballrooms. He enjoyed “talking farm” with his sons, family, and friends. His many grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he spent countless hours watching his children’s and grandchildren’s athletic events. According to Art, he never missed a county fair in his lifetime.

Mary Ann Wiesen was born March 27, 1923 in Dodge to John and Anna (Kreikemeier) Wiesen.  She attended country school near Dodge before moving to Beemer.  She was a 1941 graduate of Beemer High School, then worked for several years as a nanny in Chicago, IL.  On April 11, 1944, Mary Ann married Arthur Reeson at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Beemer.  The couple farmed north of West Point, retiring and moving into West Point in 1997.

Mary Ann was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Guild, Catholic Daughters, sang in the church choir, and served on Logan Township election board.  She was a member of the Neighbor Makers Extension Club, served as president of the Cuming County Home Extension Council, and served as secretary of the Extension Chairman Alumni.  Mary Ann enjoyed music, dancing, and crocheting, and she was an accomplished seamstress.

The Reeson Family,
I was sorry to hear about your mother. She was such a kind, fun loving neat lady. Several years ago Elaine and I ran into your mom and a friend. They started telling us stories about when they were young. I could have listened to her all day. I know you will miss her but she will always be watching from above with her wonderful smile.

We were sorry to hear about the passing of you mother, Jane. While we did not know her, reading her obituary and seeing the photo of her and your dad and the family farm, had us to believe she was a active and talented person. Seems her family meant so much to her. I know she will be missed by you and your children. May God keep you all in his loving hands.

Jon and family,
I am so sorry to hear about your mom. I know how much you will miss her. I lost my dad last June and miss him every day. Your memories of your mom and faith in God will see all of you through. I'm sure your dad was there to greet her as she walked through the gates of heaven.
