Life lesson from my loving Mother

July 11, 2019

I was around 7 years old. Mom and I walked to the store from grandma Doris Riley's on 14th. We came to Broadway (Hwy 50), we looked both ways to make sure no cares were coming. Well about the middle of Broadway I decided to do a cartwheel. Umm yeah it was not a good idea. My momma sntached me by the arm and whooped my butt the rest of the way across broadway. We get to the other side and of course I am crying. My momma got down on her knee to look me in the eyes, I will never forget the crackling tone and the look in her eyes when she said "Teri Gayle do not ever do that again, you could have been hit by a car, and then I would be sad the rest of my life". The her lip started to quiver and tears started to run down her face. She then said "I do not ever want to have to whoop you again, do you understand". Then she hugged me tight and took my hand as we walked through the parking lot to the store. At that age I knew mom loved me. When I became older I look back and I realize, That was the first time I seen my moms unconditional love she had for me and my siblings. I learned so much from her that day and kept learning/ I miss her so very much. I love you Mom
