Mrs. Blanche Trevisano, age 101, passed away peacefully Thursday evening, January 3, 2019, at the Hospice House in The Villages, Florida.

She was born April 24, 1917 to a very busy, hard working, and large Italian immigrant family in Pennsylvania. She was one of 9 girls and 7 boys to Cosimo and Anna Annis (alternate spelling Annese).

She was a very active member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church Sarasota as the Sunday “Coffee Lady,” a card playing socialite, and a creative Crafty Lady. Blanche, a highly valued seamstress from the age of 15 at Barbizon to 100 where she mended clothes for her community and church, was known for her passion for sewing and crocheting.  She extremely enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and continued to play up until her last days. The countless and priceless hours sitting at a table shuffling cards, dealing, laughing, and (of course) eating will always be cherished in our hearts and souls. Blanche never let anyone leave her house hungry; even if you were full, you still had to eat more. She loved making pizzelles, stuffed mushrooms, eggplant parmesan, and escarole soup. Blanche’s mantra was keep moving, keep busy, and eat healthy. She walked daily and prided herself on her 100 years of complete independence.

Her other joy was telling her stories of growing up during a harder time in history. These stories will always be remembered and repeated for many years to come. In lieu of a formal memorial, flowers, cards, or money, the family would like to receive any special stories and pictures. These will be collected and published in a digital album for the family to enjoy.

Blanche was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Anthony Trevisano; daughter, Angella Olivito; four brothers, James (Jimmy) Annis, Nicholas Annis, Michael Annis, and Frank (Bunny) Annis; and six sisters, Mary Ragusa, Jean LaSala, Lucille (Luca) Trombino, Grace Cappello, Olivia (Olean) Servidio, and Madeline (Maggie) Scalzo.

Blanche is survived by two daughters, Joanne Duetsch (Jed) of Warren, NJ and Faith Latham (Larry) of The Villages, FL; 7 grandchildren, Valerie Casey (Tim), Nicole Dumke (Paul), Michelle Barrineau (Randy), Susan Trevisa, Brian Trevisa (Lissy), Heather Pecore (Greg), and Christina Latham; and 13 great grandchildren from 27 years old to 2 weeks old. She also leaves many other family members (including 5 brothers and sisters) and friends who will sadly miss her.
