Bobby (Bob) Lynn Cunningham, 82, formerly of Durham, North Carolina, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Duke Medical Center with his family by his side.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, a private pilot and enjoyed restoring old tractors. He was a member of Yates Baptist Church in Durham and was a former member of the Durham Lions Club for many years.

He is survived by his daughter Tammi C. Williams and husband Gary of Oxford, three grandchildren, Tyler and Morgan Williams of Oxford and Adam Cunningham of Apex, a brother, Joe Cunningham and a sister Sue Banks, both of Kentucky. Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Loretta Cunningham and his son, David Cunningham.

A visitation will be held Friday, October 11th 2013 at the Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford from 11:00-12:00PM for family and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Yates Baptist Church, 2819 Chapel Hill Road, Durham, NC 27707.

Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford is assisting the Cunningham family.

It's not often in life you meet someone and there is never any doubt or question about their faith and belief as a Christain. Bob was that kind of person. I got my start from Bob & will never forget him. It was so obvious how much he cared about his family. I consider myself very fortunate for knowing the Cunningham family.
