Mr. Barfield was born in Rock Mills, Alabama July 16, 1932 to the late Hoyt Barfield and the late Essie Towler Barfield, he was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War, and a member of the First United Methodist Church in LaFayette, he had served as a policeman for the City Of LaFayette, and later served the LaFayette Fire Department for 35 years as a fireman and dispatcher, and retired from Genuine Motor Parts store in LaFayette after 32 years of service.
Survivors are his 4 daughters-Lydia (Alan) Hubbard of LaFayette, Al., Gloria (Albert) Johnson of Five Points, Al., Teresa (Danny) Edmondson of LaFayette, Al., Paula (Steve) Green of Valley, Al. 2 sisters-Peggy (Junior) Rollins of Rock Mills, Al., Ellen (Carey) Holloway of Rock Mills, Al., 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers Benford Barfield, Lynn Barfield and a grandson Jason Alan Hubbard.
