Mr. Calvin Lee Green (Poonany) was born on October 2, 1959 in Talbot County, Georgia to the late J. L. and Helen Green.  He departed this life on July 3, 2012 at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin, Georgia.

At an early age, Calvin joined the St. Paul C.M.E. Church and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

Calvin was known as a hard working  man that has held the title of being “the maintenance man” through several job opportunities which includes Callaway Gardens, Cagle’s, and the City of Manchester.  He also received training at General Motor Training Center in Atlanta, Georgia which lead to a job in mechanics at Meadows Motors.

On May 31, 1978, Calvin was united in holy matrimony to his lovely and devoted wife Barbara Green.

He leaves to cherish, 3 children, Terrance Anthony (Kimberly), Tobias Green, and Cierra Green;  3 sisters, Delois Mahone, Annice Walker (Willie), and Retha Gray (Lester);  one brother, J. D. Green (Geneva); 5 grandchildren, Jaden Anthony, Terrance Anthony, Jr., Javin Teal (Red), Jordan Green, and Justin Green; 8 aunts, Nina Copeland (Melvin), Joyce Walwyn (James), Linda Copeland (Bishop Jimmie Copeland), Margaret Lunsford (Ed), Clote Whitehead, Bennie Green, Martha Green, Lily Bell Green; one uncle, Jerry Terry (Loretta); 7 sister-n-laws; 3 brother-n-laws; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
