Carolyn Sams Way, 77, a longtime resident of Orange County passed away Tuesday, February 06, 2018 at Carolina Point Pruitt Healthcare in Durham.

She was born in Greer, South Carolina on October 08, 1940 to the late Carlos Franklin Sams and Alma Beatrice Rogers. Carolyn was retired from Whitehall Jewelry Store in Durham.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 9, 2018 at Day Family Cemetery in Roxboro by Rev. John Gaither.

Surviving are two daughters, Brenda W. Pruitt and Teresa W. Underwood, of Durham; a son, Robert Way (Heather) of Creedmoor; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Dunn, Nikki Underwood, of Hillsborough, Jamie Dixon, Michael McGhee, of Roxboro; four great-grandchildren, Christopher and Hailey Way of Creedmoor, Blain Dunn and Blair Hanna of Hillsborough. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmond Way, Sr. and a son, Edward Way, Jr.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday evening February 8, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 119 South Main St, Creedmoor, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bereavement Fund at First Baptist Church, 119 South Main St., Creedmoor, NC 27522.

To the sweetest lady's I have ever known would give you the shirt off her back . Never had a bad word to say about anyone .she will be missed by many all she went through she keeps a smile on he face .I know she is in a better place .
