Her Life

The daughter of Mrs. Rosa Smith Stanback of Columbus and the late Oscar Stanback, Jr., Mrs. Reynolds was born in Leesville, LA on September 16, 1950. A 1968 graduate of the George W. Carver High School, Mrs. Reynolds obtained her Master in Social Science Education at Columbus College(Columbus State University) . She was an educator with the Muscogee County Schools, having last served as Social Studies, Language Arts and Modern Languages Secondary Education Instructional Specialist for the Muscogee County School District (MCSD), serving grades 6 through 12, but her favorite love was the classroom. She retired following 38 years of dedicated service.She lectured across the United States and abroad including the University of Arizona and Georgetown University in Washington, DC and presented at the International Council for the Social Studies Conference at the University of Sidney in Sidney, Australia.
She was a member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Cottonton, AL where she served with the Women's Auxiliary and served over the Young Adult Women's Class. She was also a member of the Macedonia District Ministers' Wives Organization, former youth president of the Top Ladies of Distinction, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She was also named one of Columbus' Gracious Ladies.
Survivors, other than her mother include: her husband of 43 years, Reverend Timothy T. Reynolds; one daughter, Timedra R. Burl (Reginald); a sister, Gwendolyn Adams (Eugene); her mother-in-law, Mrs. Willie Mae Reynolds; two brothers-in-law, James Reynolds, Jr. (Joann) and Dwight E. Reynolds (Priscilla); loving nieces and nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
