Mrs. Catherine Malone Fanning, the daughter of the late Walter and Lizzie Mae Gilliam Malone was born February 25, 1937 in Troup County, GA. She departed this life on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at her residence in Lanett, AL.

She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with the Goodsell United Methodist Church, Lanett, AL.

“Cat”, as she was known to many attended Union and 10th Street Schools. She was employed with West Point Pepperell, Lanett Mill, for 43 years before her retirement.

 

Catherine was joined in Holy Matrimony for fifty-one years to Jimmy Fannings, who preceded her in death.

 

She enjoyed shopping with family and friends and cooking for her family.

 

Catherine was preceded in death by a sister, Jessie Mae Lovelace and two brothers, Walter, Jr. and Robert Malone.

 

She leaves to cherish her memories: a loving and devoted son, James (Loretta)Malone, two grandchildren, Latesha Potts, Lanett, AL and James Malone, Jr., Valley, AL; four great -grandchildren, Queenstiah Potts, LaChina Potts, Maki Pott, Lanett, AL and Jaihem Malone, Valley, AL; one great great grandchild, Tikembre(King)Ferrell, Lanett, AL; one sister, Lizzie P. Mathis, West Point, GA; four brothers, George (Betty)Malone, Jimmy(Eloise)Malone, Jimmy(Litita)Malone, Milwaukee, WI and Eddie(Susan)Malone, San Francisco, CA; a host of nieces, nephews , sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and a host of other relatives and friends
