""""By being here you have communicated that you care. This gesture is of immeasurable value, and speaks significantly about the impact of the life we commemorate.""""
I didn't know Cecil personally, only through FB and I enjoyed reading his postings, especially those of his favorite music videos from back in the day and espeically when he sometimes would be on a roll posting one after the other... and one of my favorites was his Old School Paducah FB page. I know he will be missed greatly by family and friends... Enjoy your status now Cecil...RIP
I watched you as a young boy, I respected you, you showed me respect too. I watched you as a young man, You showed me strength, you poured good things into my spirit, The things you gave me are priceless, I'll never forget them or you. You are a great man and I know God is smiling and he'll whisper "Job well done my son". Thank you Cecil for caring. Rest in Peace my friend.
To my brother and my friend! I set this up for you because I still don't believe you're not going to open the front door when I ring the doorbell. Paducah will have a different feel without you there. There's a hole in my heart that won't be filled because you're not here. Love ya!

Wow!! When I got the news that you had passed from this life into eternity..it was a bitter sweet moment!! Heaven has gained one of the most loyal and faithful servants that I had a pleasure of knowing, praising with, serving with and co-laboring with!! You were one of my biggest supporters and likewise!! A true lover of Jesus and his people! It was a pleasure and honor knowing you!
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Barnette. He worked at Penwalt with my Dad and my Uncle. I saw Cecil from time to time over the years. We would always talk Tilghman football or softball or Joe Casey. He would always asked how my Dad was doing. I always admired Cecil. He always had a smile on his face. I didn't know about his religious beliefs until later in life.
Minister Barnette, I want you to know you will never be forgotten, we will always remember you in our hearts and in our work, your light will continue to shine through us, as we work to change lives you will be there with us, we love you RIP.
But it doesn't surprise me that he was a Christian and a true man of God. He will be missed. But he is walking hand in hand with the one who died for us all. Heaven is rejoicing.
I am so sorry to hear of Cecil's passing. I always knew he was a very good man. So I was not suprised to find out he was a true man of God. I rejoice in knowing the word says to die in Christ is to be present with the Lord. So Fran & Family I pray you will find peace in knowing the hole in your heart is only temporary. Not goodbye but see you later. (Maxine Newbern Bailey)
