His Life

Mr. Cedric Raymond, 57 of Columbus passed away Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Columbus Hospice. 

Born in New Orleans, LA on April 17, 1957, Mr. Raymond was the son of the late Elmore and Lorenza Raymond, Sr. He was a 1975 graduate of the George Washington Carver High School in New Orleans, and also attended the University of New Orleans. He moved to Columbus, Georgia in 1992 and was employed with the Columbus Consolidated Government as a surveyor. He was also employed with Winn Dixie on Hunt Avenue. He was a member of Macedonia Christian Ministries where he served on the Deacons Board, as well as, numerous other ministries at the church. He enjoyed working and was always ready to lead a helping hand when needed. Cedric was loved by many and will truly be missed.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Stelfene Oferton.

Those cherishing his memory include: his wife, Mrs. Juanita Raymond; a son, Cedric Sutton; a daughter, Angela Wynn; a godson, Matthew Brown IV; a goddaughter, Kae Houston; three sisters, Verna Gueringer, Mae Alice Melancon, and Barbara Ann Brown; eight brothers, Leroy Smith, Elroy (Margie)Raymond, Elmore(Daisy) Raymond, Jr., Arthur (Linda) Raymond, Bruce (Willie Mae) Raymond, Jerome (Ola May) Raymond, Sr. Antoine A. (Cynthia) Raymond and Dwight A. (Cynthia) Raymond; a lifelong best friend, Steve(Monica) Price; loving in-laws, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
