Let the memory of Chukwuma be with us forever.
  • Born on December 21, 1951 in Ogidi, Anambra, Nigeria.
  • Passed away on December 8, 2018 in Ogidi, Anambra, Nigeria.

This memorial website was created in memory of our beloved dad, Chukwuma Victor Echezona(Nnayelugo) .

Dad was born December 21, 1951 to the family of Idigo and Ijele Echezona. Before the outbreak of the Biafran civil war, he had his primary and secondary school education in Anambra and after the war, he completed his secondary school education.
Dad lost his father Idigo, at the early age of fourteen and had to fend for himself from that moment. He was passionate about learning and worked hard to put himself through school by engaging in trading. His first shot at business was a truck-load of plantain which he got on credit from a farm in Ikot-Ekpene. After a week, he paid back the credit and still had enough to  purchase his next order.
Dad was a really bright student and after secondary school, he saved up and left for the UK to further his studies. While studying abroad, he set up a consultancy firm.
Upon his return to Nigeria, he set up
1. Europa Industries ltd in the seventies with a wide range of products;
2. Buckingham Secondary School, Buckingham Computer School and eventually Buckiepoly in 2003.
3. Zoom oil in 2011.
Because of his love for his people and town, Dad set up all his companies in Ogidi, he was a huge employer of labour and contributed tremendously to the development of Ogidi. Buckiepoly was the first privately-owned polytechnic in Ogidi and Anambra.

Dad was a highly motivated and innovative enterpreneur who mentored hundreds of people in his lifetime. He was smart and good with languages. He prided himself in the quality of his work and constantly sought to better his enterprise.
In 1985, dad wedded his heartrob (our mum), Ngozi Felicia Echezona, with whom he walked his life's journey till the last moment. She was always by his side and their love was so amazing to watch. Still is.
Dad was a gentleman to the core, he was loving, caring and peace loving. He loved his work, loved his family more and his wife the most. He will be remembered for all his legacies.

Dad passed in the morning of Saturday December 8, 2018 surrounded by his loved ones after a brief illness.
He is survived by mum and the five of us; Ogo, Ify, Nkay, Ela, SomT.

We will remember him forever.

May his soul find eternal rest.
Amen.

Sir, It was just a 10 minute encounter I had with you on that day i came to seek permission for the establishment of a campus fellowship on behalf of our church. I'm talking about 2007/08. But I wouldn't be exaggerating if I say you were an easy going man and a man of your words. It doesn't take a million years to know one. No bottlenecks. You granted our request speedily. Your family, especially Ify your daughter, loves you much. But you have gone to a place you are loved even more! Heroes don't die! Like the soldiers they are, they only change their base. Words wouldn't suffice! Rest on, sir.

I remember the first time I met you at the Nigeria Law School, Bwari Abuja when you and mommy came to visit Ify, you were so happy to meet us (Ify Friends) and welcomed us with a warm hand... I met you subsequently and I became part of the family. It’s saddened that you had to leave us and go join God in heaven, but we are rest assured you are in a better place and watching over us. Dear Ify, I know your papa meant the world to you. The way you wrote about him was so endearing. I loved hearing about all his stories. He conversed with you like an equal. I can only imagine the pain you and your family are going through. Reading about his legacy I can see he was extraordinary. May the good Lord console you and your entire family. Sending warm hugs your way..
