Clint’s been a good friend for many years since he and Lorraine moved to North Texas and joined Crossroads Bible Church and our minichurch. Clint was a joy to be around – a booming baritone voice pleasing to listen to (whether reading a lesson, a Bible verse, or just talking); he brought joy and hope to his friends. He was devoted to serving others – on the board of Biblical Communications with Neil, with Selestin and ALARM, and Henry Ngeno in Kenya. We were to join him and Lorraine in Norway but failing health prevented that from happening.
We smile when we remember our times together – church, minichurch, Thursday men’s group, or sharing a meal. We’re saddened because we won’t enjoy his company again – in this life, but we look forward to seeing him again.
Lorraine, Steve, and Scott – we wish you fond memories of your husband and father and will pray for the Lord’s comfort and strength for you.

Clint and Lorraine have been very good friends of mine for many many years. I have so many wonderful memories of our times together. Clint was a deeply caring man and had a wonderful personality that touched many people. In his ministry at the retirement homes, he showed attention to each individual person and always made them feel so special. Clint will be very missed by anyone who had the joy of knowing him.

Like most of Clint's friends, I remember Clint's wonderful voice. It had a laugh in it, and it was so sincere. We met many times for lunch, usually at the Cotton Patch Cafe. Clint rarely had an agenda, he mainly just wanted to be friends and hang out. We talked about family, photography, the Bible. We laughed about Lainey's famous cookies, because they were so spectacularly good! I got to know Clint & Lorraine in a Psalms class that Darlene and I led; and he shared that statement, "May the meditations of your heart be the medication for your soul." See you again soon, Clint.

The gentle giant, Mr. Clint Schultz, had such a major impact on so many of us men at CBC. His gentle manner and love of Jesus made every encounter with Clint a joy. He will be missed by so many. Praying for comfort for you Lorraine, Scott and Steve and all your clan. I know he is joyful in the presence of his savior Jesus Christ.

We will dearly miss you dad Clint. We glorify God for your fruitful service while here on earth. Memories will always be fresh when you waited for me with mum Lorraine up past 10pm at my Dallas Global Proclamation Academy graduation in 2012 and also at the dinner in 2016 at Bangkok Thailand for gprocongress. We will keep praying with the family. From Albert Mangeni, Philippians 1:21-22

Clint would light up a room with his deep rich voice and joyous greeting. We shared time together at Crossroads Church, especially the Men's Thursday Morning Bible study. His love of Africa paralleled our love of Africa as our daughter is a missionary in Zambia. Clint took a keen interest in her work as founder of an orphan center and the ministry she was called to. I didn't get the opportunity to know Clint and Lorraine as well as I would have liked as he began having health issues shortly after we meant. I do know he lead a Life Worth Living dedicated to the Glory of God. May God comfort you, Lorraine, Steve and Scott. Dennis and Jolene Elmore

Brother Clint - what wonderful times to remember. The blessed life we three shared with our folks and with each other! The businesses we grew up working in and later together - all the real estate Clint and I sold in Colorado, the other businesses he started up! The trips we shared as children and continued as adults, and with Lorraine and Scott and Steve too - such good boys/men!! Bahamas, Mexico, Seattle, Canada, Hawaii, Portugal, Arizona times here together…. So much to be thankful for and memories that will always linger. Thanks for being my brother and beloved sister-in-law. Randy shares a lot of that and you two always made a good laugh!! (In a good way :) Little Sister Linda

Just the other day Lila mentioned that she was so lucky to have Clint as her neighbor, and We couldn’t agree more.
We have 15 years of wonderful memories; his eyes lighting up when peanut and pickle came over, Silly and sometimes scary Halloweens, always insisting on a sweet hug, And fun stories that came straight from Clint’s imagination. If you met him, you knew he had a strong faith.
We were blessed to know him and are thankful he was a special part of all of our lives. We will miss him.
Love,
JT, Shelly, Jack and Lila.

I knew Clint through Lorraine, and grew to know him fondly as Lorraine talked about him so lovingly. Sounds like he had a great sense of humor too. I know they had fun together. When we would see each other in church, he always had a big smile and hearty handshake, even though he barely knew me. I could tell he was a special person. I loved hearing sons Steve and Scott talk about their father which also gave me another glimpse into Clint the man and father. You all were blessed to have each other for this time on earth, and to have to this good and Godly man in your life. The family is in my prayers today, and special prayers for you Lorraine.

Hellen and I are saddened by the passing of our dear friend, Clint Schultz.

You and Lorraine hosted me twice at your home in Corinth in 2006 and 2010. On both occasions I was in the US to attend the Global Proclamation Academy (GPA) events hosted by Ramesh Richard Evangelism and Church Health (RREACH).

Since then you became family to me. You were not only a friend but a father-figure to me. I fondly referred to you as “dad”—something I never took lightly. The two times I was in your home, I really felt “at home.” I vividly remember the warmth of your love for God and His people. I remember the conversations we had about Uganda. You said you wanted to visit Uganda. I always looked forward to that day.

Four years ago, in 2016, I was blessed to share a hotel room with you in Bangkok during the Gpro Congress. That week in Thailand was unforgettable. We talked, laughed, cried, ate and prayed together. Our friendship was deepened.

I am grateful to God that for the years I have known you. You have modeled what it means to love God and love people. You have opened your hearts, home and wallets to welcome people like me and many others, in the name of Jesus. You did not care about the color of our skins or our cultural differences. As a young married man then, you modeled to me how to love my wife and support her as we serve the Lord together.

Clint, you were a good man. You loved God and loved people. You loved your family. You were hardworking and generous. You were a man full of joy and the Holy Spirit. I and my family miss you dearly. Our hope and comfort is that we will see you again in that place where there is no pain or suffering. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-14).

We pray for Lorraine and the family that God will provide all the strength and comfort you need during this very difficult time of grief.

We are grateful to have known Clint if only for a couple of years. He had so many stories to tell with only a limited time during short visits. A man that would almost always get up to greet us at the door regardless of the amount of pain it took. I'm reminded that there is a place where there will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain. I'm also grateful that Clint was a brother in Christ and I am convinced Jesus is holding his hand.

Our prayers are with Lorraine and family to trust in the same knowledge that all of us will inherit the same ending and He will continue to provide and for bearing the time ahead.

Clint Schultz...what a wonderful man with a hope-filled spirit! You came into our lives in a strong way over the last decade... we greatly benefitted by your Christliness of love, joy, peace, kindness and good old fashioned... goodness. As Neil Curran (the one who introduced you to us) mentioned, I am so glad we were able to give you a highlight experience in Bangkok at the Global Proclamation Congress, much like you and Rainey provided a highlight for younger pastoral leaders from weaker economies when when they came to Dallas for those three precious weeks of further preparation for ministry.
Thank you, friend and brother in Christ, for your example and witness. We know you are enjoying your Lord Jesus in heaven, while we mourn, albeit with hope. We should all be there together pretty soon ourselves...since we have embraced the good news that the Lord Jesus is God's One and Only Savior.
Till we meet again, we shall attempt to populate heaven with many more from east and west, north and south.
Warmly to the Schultz family,

His Life

Invocation - Pastor Neil Curran

Pastor Neil Curran
Founder and CEO of Biblical Communications International

We are gathered online today, family and friends of Clint Schultz, to pay our respects, to comfort one another, to thank God for His mercy and grace. I have been friends with Clint and Lorraine for a long time, since they first came to Crossroads Bible Church where I served as Pastor of Shepherding. For the past nine years Clint has served with me on the board of directors of Biblical Communications International. We are good friends.
As the Apostle Paul said in Philippians 1:21, “…to live is Christ, then to die is gain.” We know that Clint is with our Lord. He has gain. But we grieve at our loss.

            Let us pray.
Heavenly Father, we come to you with mixed hearts…sad at losing Clint…but glad that he is with you…happy, healthy enjoying your heavenly peace. Father, be with us today. Give us your comfort in the days ahead. We pray especially for Lorraine, their sons Steve and Scott and their three grandchildren. Father, we thank you for Clint’s life with us…for his eternal life with you…and the assurance we can have through Christ that we will see Clint again …because of your amazing and priceless grace. Amen.

II Corinthians 5:1-2

5:1  Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.

2  Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling,

John 14:1-6

14:1  "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God ; trust also in me.

2  In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.

3  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

4  You know the way to the place where I am going."

5  Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?"

6  Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Brief Message - Pastor Neil Curran

August 11, 2020
Even though I am absolutely sure, on the authority of the Holy Bible, that Clint is in Paradise with our Lord Jesus Christ right now, I sure many still hurt and feel a deep sense of loss...you, who also loved and cared for Clint.

Some people think Christians are not supposed to be sad and hurt over the passing of another Christian because we do know he's gone to a better place and that one day we will be together again.  But it is natural to grieve and feel the pain of our loss.  The world was not created to be the way it is.  Death and separation came into the world because of sin.  Human beings were created to live in the garden...a perfect place...and in a right relationship with God and other people forever.  Sin changed that.

We live in a fallen world with thorns, sickness and death.  But even then, God didn't leave us in this mess we created.  God had a plan to save us...to reconcile us to Himself...to restore us to a right relationship with Him...through Jesus Christ...the Savior...who paid the price for our sins and was resurrected so we could gain new spiritual life...His life...the resurrected life of Jesus Christ.  Jesus is not hanging on the cross.  He came out of the tomb.  It's empty.  Jesus is in heaven at the right hand of God the Father...calling us to believe...to trust Him...to place out faith in Him...so we can have an assurance of more than this life on a fallen planet...so we can be with Him in Paradise forever.

Jesus said, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again...(spiritually...) he cannot see the kingdom of God."  You're born again spiritually when you place your faith in Christ...and Christ alone...for salvation.

The Bible says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life."

Clint believed. He knew in his heart that what the bible teaches about Jesus is all true.  That's why Clint is with our Lord right now.

The Bible also says, "For by grace you have been saved... (grace is a free, undeserved gift)...(saved means to be free from the penalty of sin...death)..."For by grace you have been saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, that anyone should boast."  (Ephesians 2:8 & 9)

Faith means trust.  You must trust...depend on Christ alone to forgive you and give you eternal life

If you have never trusted Jesus Christ as your Savior let me ask that you consider doing it in the quiet of your own heart.

Heavenly Father, we acknowledge You as God.  We love You because You first loved us.  You sent your only Son to die in our place.  We thank you for saving Clint and that he is with you in heaven right now.  For those who know You, Lord, separation is temporary.  Lord, you know there are some who have never consciously decided to place their faith in Jesus Christ and trust Him for their eternal salvation.  May they do that today...repeating to you in their hearts as we pray.

"Yes, Father, I confess my sins to you...that I have fallen short.  I do believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that he died for my sins and rose again on the third day to give me new spiritual life.  Father, I am placing my faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as my savior right now. Father God, thank you for loving me…forgiving me… and saving me…today.  Amen."

If you prayed that prayer just now then there's more good news you ought to hear.  As the Apostle John recorded in his Gospel, Jesus also said:

“I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.” - (John 5:24)

John also wrote this in the Bible, "These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may KNOW that you have eternal life."

That's the greatest, good news message in the world and I know Clint wants you to hear it.

Benediction: Let’s close in prayer

August 11, 2020
Heavenly Father, we thank you that Clint is with you and that one day we too will follow to meet him /her again…and you…face to face…all because You loved us first and sent your Son to save us. Father, we ask for your peace and comfort, that you will touch our hearts in the days and weeks ahead as we think of  Clint, Father, we will indeed miss him. Sustain us, Lord, till we meet again. We pray in the precious name of our savior, the Lord Jesus.  Amen.

Uncle Clinton the Great

August 18, 2020
Dear Lorraine, Steve and Scott

My thoughts have been with you often over the too many years, and especially in recent months.  I so appreciated the chance to look at this photo gallery and to see the beautiful children of Steve and Scott, and to reminisce remotely about long ago and too infrequent family times we all shared.

When my daughter, Dana, met Clint for the first time, she was maybe four years old and we were gathered in Cody at Great Grandma McMillin's house for some family feast.   Dana was quite intimidated by Clint's imposing height and his deep voice and when Clint noticed this he dropped to his knee beside her chair and said quietly "Your Dad said I was your Great Uncle Clinton, but actually I am Uncle Clinton the Great and that is what you should call me"  Everybody laughed, of course. Dana smiled. Clint then taught her how to make ice cream soup by mixing the vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup, and Clint instantly gained another admirer.  I will always remember him as Uncle Clinton the Great, and what made him great to me was that he always took a moment to give one-to-one, personalized and focused attention to every individual, including to me every time I was fortunate enough too see him.

Love you all,  Don.

A few reflections on Clint - Lorraine Schultz

August 11, 2020
59 years seems to gone by quickly. We’ve called Montana, Colorado, Wyoming, Washington and Texas home. Clint always welcomed everyone into our home. We didn’t meet too many strangers, and had many wonderful conversations, and shared many meals with a variety of people from all walks of life. Clint loved being home and we were glad we could be home during much of his illness.

Thinking back, while watching our two boys grow up, we always tried to plan trips where the four of us could be together and they were usually an exploration with some sense of adventure. We all loved the water, whether it was the mountains or oceans, there was always water. Some of our travels took us to Costa Rica, Belize, the British Virgin Islands, all over Mexico, the Bahamas, Hawaii, Bermuda and up and down both coasts, several times on a sailboat. Gratefulness, beyond words for sons Steve and Scott for being able to be here such as they have and when they weren’t here they did a lot from their homes - what a blessing.

For the last 19 years Texas has been home. We’ve enjoyed and been fortunate with the many fellowship privileges and opportunities here. And are blessed to have such sweet, caring, and loving neighbors. Bettye Sztamenits encouraged us to go to Crossroads Bible Church. We went in 1999 and it’s now 21 years. Thanks for their care and thoughtfulness. We went to Bible study at Ian and Dottie Cooks until they moved to North Carolina. Now, it’s at Gary and Nancy Smith’s home. Thankful for all of their efforts shared. Thinking of Clint, he sure enjoyed the Men’s breakfast group at Crossroads. In addition, I’d love to thank Dr. Miki for being by my and Clint’s side when he passed, XO.

That’s a few of my reflections of our time together, he’s very missed.

Love,
Lorraine
