This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Dame
Lewechi Ijeoma Iko (Nee Ogan), 94, born on January 22, 1922 and passed
away on February 16, 2016.
Mmom Ijeoma's worth was priceless
She was a virtuous wife
A loving mother
A dependable grand-mother of three generations
Forever concerned for the well being of her siblings
An attentive listener
A courageous Amazon of the Ogan's clan
She knew how to make things happen
And her light glowed as radiant as the sun

We will remember her forever. Amen!!!

We remember you today as we do everyday since your passing. This particular one has been very sadly poignant that Nnamdi, your fondest grandchild and our beloved son and brother was prematurely called home last October 9th, 2019 at a mere 21 years of age. As it pleases The Almighty Jehovah that his physical being is no more with us we take solace in the conviction that you are both in His bossom where your individual races, though different in longevity have so verily earned until we all meet again. Please make a protest that none will ever join you young from this family and that we stay inheritors of that promise of God's richly blessings of a long and very fulfilled life. Shame the evil one with your special favor from God in whose heritage of Love, Grace & Mercy shall always overcome the mortal powers of Satan. Shalom! We live!!!.....Amen!!!
We thank JESUS that HE lent you to us and also welcome you home when it was a ripe time . Your memories are in everything we see and can appreciate and we Thank you for the great opportunity of being here through you. In every way
Rest in the Lord Jesus Till we meet Again......Amen!
It’s another 22nd of January - we love and miss you very much. Happy birthday our Grandma and Great Grandma!
I woke up this morning with your favorite hymn on my lips, praising God from Whom all goodness flow, in spite of all human wickedness. I know you would have been deeply saddened by the inhumanity meted out to the indigenes of Benue by the herdsmen. We pray for a Nigeria that will reflect your wishes and look up to our Almighty God to bring peace to this country at this very fearful times. All your loved ones pray your eternal bliss but also our health and wellbeing here on earth until we meet again.... Amen!
As you would've loved for us to do on any other day, we must do the same for your birthday and celebrate instead of mourn. Instead of us giving you gifts and presents, we reminisce over the gifts you've provided for us -- your words of wisdom, comforting advice for when we needed guidance, or your loving support. I pray that although you're no longer with us that we may continue to seek your help in our times of need. We may miss you, but we will never forget the legacy you left behind.
Happy Birthday Grandma! May you enjoy the plans God has set for you.
Everyday we honor you and your life. The Lord saw it was fit to bring you back home and for that reason we should not mourn but celebrate your time here. You taught me to have compassion and showed real strength in your words and also at times in silence. I hope and pray to acquire your wisdom and understanding as I navigate the challenges of life. Forever in our hearts, rest in perfect peace.
Yesterday was the Women's March on Washington in Washington, DC. I was there with a large group of people and I thought of you and really missed you. I saw a lot of grandmothers out there, walking and laughing, chanting and smiling and they reminded me so much of you.
I know that you would have enjoyed the sight of hundreds of thousands of women coming together to show their solidarity with each other in times of strife. You were always such a pillar of strength and I'm thankful that as I grow older I am learning to take on some of that strength as well. You are missed but I know you are at peace. Love you Grandma
This past Christmas and New Year were really hard not having you around to share the mirthful laughter with which you often shouted your greetings, easily betraying your profound joy those celebrations brought to you as a true believing Christian. But your birthday today will probably be harder- a day in which you often relished as many of us sing the usual happy birthday song to you and your usual response " I'm 16". What a great joy you insisted upon in spite of all the nagging nabobs that also attended your great joy.
For sure we know that where you are with your Jesus is all Joy and forever. Many here on earth miss you with great thanks to God Almighty who chose and lives in you though you are not here. Thanks also to Ogbo'm Uche ( Dr. Rex Opusunju) who has given us this medium to remember. Thank you Lord....Amen
