He lives in me, in my heart, in my soul. He always was, he always will be, a part of me. My pain is great. Words could never do justice to what Dan meant to me, what he means to me, what he will always mean to me......

Dan the man! The big Dawg!

The memories I have of you are big and beautiful like your smile, like your "pele" ( pronounced more like the Brazilian footballer than the Yoruba word! lol). Your inherent mischief and willingness to push the envelope I will remember, and put out that energy in the world myself because we all could do with a little more of that.

You changed your part of the world; Literally every person that came across you was influenced in some way by you and felt the strength of your spirit, and what a spirit it was to experience on this earthly journey!
Throwing out rule book, doing it with love and from the heart. That is the way I will most fondly remember you. Thank you for being a guiding light, the best way you knew how. Thank you for teaching, laughing, loving so hard and just for being .

Rest well and enjoy the next Chapter till we meet again Big Dawg,

lots of love,
Folu baby

It was just about 10 years ago you walked into my then cramped living room with your large tv screen and a bucket of super tasty fried chicken. I remember watching on in awe as you sat amongst us (with no airs, super humble and with so much positivity) to pair screens and start playing COD. I recall all the nuggets of wisdom you shared that day and how much I learnt from you. As the years went on, I recall how much of a support you were through my career. How much you helped and how much of yourself you have to support and help to build my brand and business. Dan I’d forever miss hearing you call my name the way only you do “Kayodeeee” imagine this always came after and I recall always smiling through the new creative idea you had for me. I’m super grateful Dan. Super grateful . I have over the last couple of weeks gone back to your last message to me. Thank you for always believing in me and cheering me on. I’m grateful for the man you were, the grace you had upon you, the love filled heart you’ve blessed lives with. I’m grateful you are now with God whom you loved always. I know I speak for tons of people when I say we’d miss you Dan. Thank you for your footsteps in the sands of my life’s time. Rest on Dan. Enjoy Heaven. The Heavens have gained a great soul. I can proudly say I had a friend, He was a great man ⭐️...

I listened to Dan a lot on the radio. Dan particularly taught me that I could play a gospel song on a day show in Nigeria when it ain't Sunday. I am a pastor's kid that wanted to do radio at all cost. Dan was the template I gave my folks when they asked if it was safe to do radio in Nigeria considering the kinds of songs they play and all.
I reached out to Dan when he was looking for radio hosts for his new radio station. He told me he had seen a video on my Instagram page where a lady I interviewed said I know how to ask questions, he said that's very good, send me a recording of your stuff. I did. We got talking thereafter.
He followed me on Instagram without knowing me. It was a great honor when I saw the following notification. I felt really good.
He was a good man. He is very honest with his words. He wants you to get better. He wants you to understand that you can do it, just be free with it and have fun.
Just like Dan, I played gospel songs on my show. Had some hassles with my bosses as a result, but I knew it was possible, for some minutes at least.
Rest in Peace Big Dawg. I'll keep pushing. No sweat.

Dan Foster made listening to radio such fun . I loved the way he tried to speak the local dialect . His praise Jam on radio was always so soul lifting.
We really lost a rare gem
Rest in peace Dan, I will never forget you.
God bless and protect your family.

You will be forever missed Dan. A great inspiration to everyone.

We met a few times at your Etim Inyang residence and those moments, dude, you inspired me a great deal! You were my second celebrity client for my web design business in the early 2000s and working with you was one of the smoothest transactions I ever had in Nigeria. You were a man of integrity, extreme passion, humour and an overwhelmingly positive presence. A committed believer in the talents of the youth of Nigeria and a purveyor of maximising one's God given talents.

God will fill your void in the lives of your family.

Dan, rest in peace!

The bit about his love for chess is so true. I had always known Dan on radio and admired him greatly for his work as a radio presenter. He was undoubtedly one of the great radio broadcasting influencers in Nigeria's modern history. But the first time I ever met Dan was accross a chess board at Orchid Chess Club. That was the start of a 6 year relationship as what you might call chess buddies. Dan had unmatchable passion for chess. As a player, his one outstanding trait was his knack to attack. He loved attacking so much that he usually forgot to also defend. LOL.

But beyond chess, after that first game we had, I met Dan, the man and what an amazing person he turned out to be. Good hearted, friendly, jovial, simple and just fun to be around. What was impossible to miss every time Daniel showed up to play chess, was how much he loved his kids. He was obviously an incredible dad.

I'll miss Dan Foster and will always remember him as a legend on radio, a fine human being, a great father and a brilliant chess player. RIP Dan.

"I can only imagine " by Mercy Me.
"he's my son" by Mark Shultz,
Fantastic songs that I can't forget, thank you for the spiritual experience, Dan played these songs almost everytime he was on air. Also his compassion, humour, dedication, hard work. Miss you on radio. RIP

Dan was one of those "raditives" (radio relatives) whose impact travelled afar. It was felt across the length and breadth of Nigeria.

You will always be remembered, you will always be talked about. Your children will always be proud to say "Dan Foster was my father..." because you have left them a good name which is worth more than gold.

Thank you for reaching out that one fine day when you called and thank you for never giving up on us meeting until we actually did...I am thankful that we had that first coffee meeting, your humility, your passion for radio and the many many phone calls and catch ups that followed...it always felt too good to be true that we had never met all these years ...I felt the strong bond of radio with you each time we connected and I thank God that he gifted you to Radio ...

If only I knew that very Sunday was going to be the last time, we would have hugged more, talked more, laughed more, played soo much and done radio soo much more...

It is sad we never got the one moment we had worked soo hard to bring about alive...

Make no mistake brother, I know this for sure, ...just like we say on radio...THIS IS NOT GOOD BYE, THIS IS ONLY A SEE YOU LATER...STAY TUNED BIG DAWG!!!

Rest In Power✊

As long I'm concerned, Dan Foster will never die in my life...

I will never use the word "WAS" to address My Dan Foster, the word will always be "IS" that I will use for my Dan forever...

He made me...
He inspired me..
He brought Christ Jesus closer where I can reach Him
He to Nigeria just because of me without knowing..
He made me see life in another way
He made me a Hero
He taught to how to stick to my instinct
His password phrase rings bell and will continue to ring in my life forever.

I LOVE YOU DAN

You were a loving as in practical loving father and husband. Thank you for your mission here in Lagos Nigeria.

You always made me laugh when you anchored sharing life issues on inspiration FM back then.. you would always throw the questions back to your audience.I would not even feel the traffic on the drive home. You introduced me to radio.
Focus on the family name it.
May the Angel's recieve you.

Dan was a hero, a motivator, a comedian,a man of excellence and a lover of God. I still don't know what Dan saw in me,but he always believed in me. He thought I was a genius loooong before I believed it,and always called me Super producer, hence my nickname "Supeeeeeer Laitan" which Dan and Bella echoed everytime we were together. For 3years,we formed a bond that was unshakable. He never came to the studio without food for everyone to eat (even when he was crazy broke). He would do everything within his power to come with chicken or burgers. He did all to put food on the table of family and friends. He was a loving father, and a great friend to many. Dan was brilliant. He would come up with great ideas like it was nothing, spontaneously. He gave others business ideas that changed their futures. Dan was truly God sent. I think Dan was the greatest promoter of gospel music in Nigeria. He didn't care about the rules. He broke them constantly, to spread the gospel. He was as passionate of gospel music,as he was about excellence. He was a happy man. He spread joy everywhere. He wouldn't leave you down,he'd make sure you laughed before he left you. that was the ministry of Dan Foster,to leave smiles on people's faces, and spread the good news of Jesus. I miss you Dan. I'll forever miss you. Sleep on. See you in heaven. Love,Olaitan Dada

My dear Egbon! It's still so surreal! You were an amazing man, a supporter, encourager and you were brutally honest. You kept it real!!! *phew* . I remember the first day we met during a radio interview, you looked at me and said "girl! Where have you been? You sing fire and your music is so powerful" .Hearing the great Dan Foster say those words to me meant everything! You played my music without asking for anything in return not even even a thank you.

The way you supported gospel artistes and played our music on mainstream radio was just incredible! Ah! You can't be forgotten even the world tried. I pray that the Holy Spirit comforts your family like only He can. Keep resting in God's arms ❤❤❤❤❤

I listened to Dan on Cool FM and tried severally to win his free gift he usually gives but I never got around winning then Dan moved to IFM and he plays the most inspiring music on radio, he gets you motivated sharing his own life stories and letting you know that you can make it despite all the obstacles you may be facing.

Dan we will miss you but we rejoice that heaven has gained an angel. Rest on the big dawg

I am gripped with gloom and unending melancholy as I pen this. The news that you passed on, still seems untrue but I slowly come to terms with the enormity of your absence. Dan, you were larger-than-life, magnanimous, encompassing and altruistic. I always cherished your pearls of wisdom, your talent and your random acts of human kindness. Even though I never saw you as often as I would have liked but I always sensed your friendship. The whole world is shaken by your demise but proud of your impact. I end this by saying thank you for giving us the opportunity to occupy the space that you orbited.
Rest in peace, Dan. Rest in peace.

I want you to know that your precious ones whom you have left behind will be especially and lovingly cared for by your God and by your family.

OH DAN FOSTER !!! Hearing the news of your passing away broke my heart.

You were one of Nigeria's Iconic radio personalities.

Oh Dan! I remember when I pioneered 95.1 Wazobia Fm and my first day on air was a disaster.

Being a first of it's kind pidgin radio station, there were no model to follow or OAPs to look up to.

I made a mess of my first day on air and bowed my head on the console. I thought I would lose my job.

You were passing by from the Cool Fm studio and stopped by to tell me not to be devastated. That most broadcasters made a mess of their first day on air.

You told me to be free, to express myself and just have fun, that you knew I would be a great radio presenter.

And a great radio presenter I became because of those kind, compassionate words and belief in me. You would check on me from time to time as I worked and give me the thumbs up sign.

Oh Dan! You gave me the courage and strength when no one cared.

Americana that would walk into my studio and try to speak pidgin on air...making me laugh.

That was the kind of guy you were...ALIVE, FUN, COMPASSIONATE, A TRUE LEADER AND TEACHER.

Rest In Peace Sweetheart.

Dan was one of the 2 people who showed me the ropes when I joined Cool FM Abuja. He was a delight to work with and learn from, he was opened and honest with the profession. We became friends almost instantly and maintained that over the years. We always caught up whenever we met at events, places or the phone. We shared training thoughts/notes and also trained others at training 'gigs'. Without a doubt you redefined radio presentation in Nigeria with the fun, energy, honesty, encouragement and Godliness your brought. Your contribution remains valuable. I trust the good Lord will preserve the family you left behind. Rest on Dan you sure are in a better place.
