My greatest memories of you Darren are when you were a young boy growing up in church. Your huge smile and sparkling eyes always lit up the room. These words written by the apostle Peter are words that for us bring hope and comfort, but for you Darren, they are your reality today. We may not understand why, but we know that we will see you again. While we are on this earth, you will be forever missed, but when we meet again, we will be forever side by side worshiping the King of kings and Lord of lords.

You were the cute little boy with the most expressive eyes and a had smile that would light up an entire room. One Halloween your mom walked in with the cutest, happiest little lion. She loved carrying her entire world on her hip. I don’t know who had the bigger smile that day you or your mom. You always, always, made her proud. I see you carried those expressive eyes and that unforgettable smile into your adulthood. It was a gift to know you and a blessing to witness such a magical relationship between a mother and son. Until you meet again, help her see beauty in this world and find her smile again. Fill her heart and give her strength. Let her realize just because she can’t see you doesn’t mean she can’t feel you.
