I just wanted to say that I'm sorry.
I'm sorry I didn't let you stay longer that night.
I'm sorry I didn't let you sleep at my apartment that night.
I'm sorry that I couldn't stop you from dying.
I'm sorry that I had to be the one who found you had passed.
I'm sorry..., so sorry that your not in my life anymore.
I'm sorry that I could have loved you in a more godly manner than I did.
I'm just sorry.... but sorry cannot undo what has happened already.
Rest well Brother....until we sit together at the feast.
             Your brother in Christ,
                                 David

I can't believe I've lived five years without you in my life any more. Your calm presence is sorely missed. Your wisdom in few words far outweighed anyone else's long fruitless lectures.
Your smile and the laughter we shared together no person will ever match.
I MISS YOU MORE THAN LIFE and I would have taken your place in a minute.
Though I will NEVER be accepted, you will be sorely missed here by ALL!
That's why you were my BEST FRIEND FOR LIFE AND BEYOND. Rest well brother and I COULD NEVER BE SORRY ENOUGH!!

Remembering the day you went home to God. It was such a surprise and unexpected but knowing that you loved the Lord made me feel a tiny bit better. After all these years, I still miss you! We will see each other again and it will be a glorious day.

Remembering David in church at Central Baptist Church in Greene, NY and the times he would read out loud from the scriptures. What a wonderful voice he had.

He was loved and he is missed.

COYOTES!!!

March 17, 2016

I have a duck blind on the bank of the Chenango River. David would go with me to take pictures of the wildlife... Especially ducks!!! Wood ducks were our favorite.

On one day it got dark. David and I heard a pack of coyotes howling in the distance. About a half hour later we heard them again. This time they were only a few hundred yards from our location.

I could see that David was getting nervous so I did what any friend would do. I told him I hadn't brought a flashlight! I preceded to explain that we probably would be safer staying put.

I told him that I wasn't worried as much about the coyotes but more about surprising a racoon... etc.

He reluctantly agreed to stay overnight at the duck blind together rather than risk navigating through the woods at night with no flashlight.

When we arrived back home we had been there for a total of seventeen hours...

I don't remember when I confessed to him that I was playing it up just to spend that time with him...

We were SO TIRED!!!

IT WAS A GREAT NIGHT!!!
