David Posavec, 67, a lifelong resident of Lansdale, died unexpectedly at his home Labor Day, Sept. 6, 2010.

Born in Lansdale, he was a son of Elva E. (Reynolds) Posavec, with whom he resided, and the late Edward L. Posavec, Sr. He graduated from North Penn High School in 1961.

He was a former partner in Da-Vals Automotive Inc. and currently operated Dave’s Towing, partnering with Morgado’s Auto Body in Lansdale.

Dave was a member of the Souderton-Harleysville Gun Club and an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved spending weekends at his Roaring Creek Mountain Home. Dave also was a race car driver for 31 years. His early days in racing were at the former Hatfield Speedway, and for many years following, at Grand View Speedway, Bechtelsville.

In addition to being survived by his mother, he was the beloved father of Eric D. Posavec (Deanna) of Lansdale; Darrin K. Posavec (Debbie) of Perkiomenville and Jamie S. Posavec (Bernadette) of North Wales. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Tyler, Talon, Brynn and Raine; his nephew, Edward L. Posavec III of Hatfield; and his niece, Pamela Haines of Perkasie.

A brother, Edward L. Posavec Jr., preceded him in death in 1974.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, Thursday evening, Sept. 9 between 7 and 9PM and Friday morning, Sept. 10 between 9 and 11AM. The funeral service will follow at 11AM. Interment will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park.
