In loving memory of Debbie Orum Singleton,

As we gather to honor your beautiful soul, we cannot help but reminisce about the vibrant and remarkable woman you were. Your love for shopping was unmatched, and your ability to find something cute for every occasion was truly admirable. Whether it was a special event or just a casual outing, you always managed to radiate elegance and style.

Oh, how we miss seeing you on the dance floor, Debbie! Your energy was infectious, and your moves were simply mesmerizing. You could dance the hustle with the best of them, and your passion for dancing brought joy to everyone around you. We can still hear the laughter and applause that filled the room whenever you graced us with your presence.

One thing we will always remember about you, Debbie, is your unwavering dedication to your soap operas. For over 40 years, you faithfully recorded every episode, never missing a single moment of drama and intrigue. Your commitment to these shows was a testament to your loyalty and the importance you placed on the simple pleasures in life.

You were a kind-hearted soul, Debbie, but you never allowed anyone to walk all over you. You had a strength and resilience that commanded respect. You would give the shirt off your back to someone in need, but you also taught us the value of standing up for ourselves and not tolerating mistreatment. Your powerful presence was a force to be reckoned with, yet your spirit remained soft and gentle.

Today, we mourn the loss of a remarkable woman who touched our lives in countless ways. Your absence leaves a void that can never be filled. However, we find solace in knowing that your memory will forever live on in our hearts. Your love for shopping, your incredible dance moves, your dedication to your soap operas, and your unwavering strength are all part of the beautiful legacy you have left behind.

Debbie, as we bid you farewell, we do so with heavy hearts but also with gratitude for the time we were blessed to have you in our lives. May your soul find eternal peace, and may your spirit continue to inspire us to live life to the fullest, just as you did.

For Mamma Debbie

I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest condolences for the loss of Mamma Debbie. She was an extraordinary woman who touched my life in ways that words cannot fully capture.

From the earliest memories I have, Mamma Debbie opened her home and heart to me. I can still picture myself as a child, running around her house with my sister, filled with joy and laughter. Those moments were made even sweeter by the delicious strawberry milk she would lovingly prepare for us. To this day, my milkshakes must be strawberry flavor or I dont want it.

As I grew older, Mamma Debbie continued to welcome me into her family with open arms. It was through her love and acceptance that I was able to reconnect with my brother and sister, creating cherished memories that will forever hold a special place in my heart.

The memories that stand out the most are the Funk Fest's we all attended together. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was electric, filled with incredible artists, soulful music, and endless dancing. Even when we encountered challenges like losing keys or being left behind in Florida, your unwavering spirit turned every situation into a joyful adventure. Mamma Debbie always knew how to make any situation a good time.

But beyond the fun and laughter, you loved me as if I were your own. During my last visit, we shared a beautiful moment when we finally settled on what I would call you. It started with "Miss Debbie," then progressed to "Aunt Debbie," but it was when I affectionately called you "Mamma Debbie" that it truly felt right. That name, Mamma Debbie, became my favorite way to express the deep love and respect I had for you.

Mamma Debbie, your presence in my life has been a blessing beyond measure, and I will miss you deeply. The memories we shared, the love you showered upon me, and the joy you brought into my life will forever be cherished. You were not only a remarkable individual but also a guiding light who touched the lives of those fortunate enough to know you.

As we mourn the loss of Mamma Debbie, let us also celebrate the incredible person she was and the legacy of love she leaves behind. May her spirit continue to shine brightly in our hearts, reminding us to embrace life's joys and to always extend a welcoming hand to those in need.

With heartfelt sympathy,

Shante Benson
