Rev. Deliah Deborah McIver was also affectionately known as "Mother Deb" to many people. She love to fish, cook, sew, attending church, but, most of all, she loved the Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Turkey. "Mother Deb" was a great historian that could tell you much about the history of Duplin County and surrouding areas. She also was a part of history as she and her family ventured into entrepreneurship by having the first African-American owned grocery store in Warsaw, N.C. named McIver Grocery.
