Doris Fay Orton, 78 was born and raised in the Crowell, Neb. area before moving to Wisconsin to start a family with her then-husband, Mike Orton. She spent her time between the two states before finally calling Chetek, Wis., home in the 1980s. Her heart and roots never left Nebraska, however, and she visited as often as she could.

Doris spent her entire life taking care of others, from helping raise her grandchildren, cooking in child care facilities, and housekeeping at the local nursing home. She loved playing cards, watching reality TV, and spending afternoons with her great-grandchildren. She had a unique and loveable sense of humor that kept her family on their toes. Her friends and family were the most important thing to her and she spent her final moments having the perfect day.
