Van was one of our fine graduates of the Soil Science Department at NC State. I enjoyed knowing him as a student and, more importantly, as a genuine person. My prayers for the family.

Van was a good friend of mine. We worked together in the Soil Science Dept. with Dr. Buol in the 70's. We drove a lot of miles working on the Alamance Co. waste treatment area. He will be missed.
