Aunty Ejemeh...

So beautiful,
So radiant,
Forever young...
Oh how I reminisce on the beautiful tributes said of you by those you imparted;
Oh how I constantly try to put words together, in an attempt to describe how much of an amazing person you are;
Albeit the multitude of words at my disposal, I'd end up realizing that words fail me...
A personification of humility,
An embodiment of first-rate virtues;
365days gone by, and I have no doubt that for the rest of time, the memories of your uniqueness will resound for generations to come.

All is Well!!!

You lived a virtuous and Godly life. These virtues - love, courage, commitment, gratitude and faith to God, as well as sacrifice and kindness- were self evident to everyone who met you. I am glad I met you often and was impacted by your life. I will continue to remember you, often and forever, as a beautiful and lovely sister. Rest in Peace!

Obhiomien its like yesterday. Even though I've never met your husband, he is the best, your loving touch is guiding your family. I feel your absence everyday, I hear you telling me I can do it, I did it, and you were so proud of me. Your spirit lives on. You touched so many souls with the little you had, you put smiles on all that knew you. Death is no ones friend, I can't turn back the hand of times, but if I could, I would. My obhio as we both call each other, my heart bleeds, but God tells me you are in a better place, our guiding angel keep watch over us. Love & miss you forever. Rest on my love

She shall rise first...!!

"But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words".

Rest on beloved. I remember the last worker's retreat she attended yesterday (the eve of the bi-annual off-ground retreat) and the strength/confidence she lived life with lifted up my soul. I can remember she was feeling so well then but she still came, participated and believing all is well. She will forever remain in our hearts.

Dr. Okojie was a beautiful woman and cared greatly for her patients, which included all three of my children. I started bringing my first born son to her in 2005! Since that time she was involved of every sickness, pain, asthma attack and growing stage in their lives! The last time I saw her was the day she saved my son's life!! In March of 2010, my son had an acute asthma attack which put him in the hospital for 4 days. If it wasn't for her fast thinking and action, he wouldn't have made it! I just recently found out about her passing this weekend when I took my youngest son to the hospital for asthma. I truly can't express how much I appreciate Dr. Okojie and I thank her for all her hard work and dedication to every child she serviced! You're a priceless memory of what a strong queen looks like and I will continue to sing your praises!!! REST IN PEACE and I know that one day in GLORY I will be able to give your the biggest hug and kiss to show you just how much you helped me and my family!!!

Eje was my junior resident at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. We seemed to be on-call together a lot and we had the same Pediatric Continuity Clinic day. I remember her mostly for her light-heartedness and optimism. I am truly saddened that I have lost a wonderful colleague.
