Dr P.C.Mbaneme is truly a son of Ogbunike, he has been a regular member of OPU Lagos branch since he arrived Lagos, participating visibly in all activities of the Union. His constant presence in meetings and very useful contributions shot him into limelight and he became Opu Lagos branch general secretary under the leadership of late Engr E C Omeata as president in the 1990s.It is on record that this period was the most eventful and challenging period in the history of OPU Lagos branch and needed a general secretary that could stand the challenges and workload. Dr P.C Mbaneme was the square peg in the square hole. He was at every meeting , took every record and rendered reports that guided deliberations and his service to OPU was examplary. When his team left office, he unlike so many former executive officers remained a consistent member of the Union and attends meetings regularly. Even when he evidently became sick, he never backslided, his mind was with the Union. Ogbunike Progress Union Lagos branch will indeed miss Dr PC Mbaneme, we pray his soul to find repose in the bosom of the Lord. ADIEU DR.

TRIBUTE TO DADDY – DR. PRINCE MBANEME
“The candle has been extinguished, but its glow shall linger. Yes, a melodious voice at rest.”
Great and loving father and grandfather have gone to be with the Lord at the appointed time. Doc. as I fondly called him was a devout child of God, a strong man who never adhered to impossibilities but was ever ready to make something wonderful out of any given opportunity. Dr, Mbaneme was a historian; he’s man that love giving history of what he knows so well. He’s a churchman to the core. What endeared me to him and his family is his simplicity, humbleness and wisdom in handling issues. He is never puffed up upon his position and achievement. He hardly raises his voice so loud, yet he made vital points that has helped the Church of God and families. He has a listening ear and advises rightly. He’s a man that loves standard and orderliness. He’s a man that preaches for peace, A man that has integrity, very accountable and always look after the welfare of others. We will miss your smiling face and encouraging admonition which is *“Jisiekwanu ike n’oru Onye nwe anyi, nemenu ezi omume, kwuba aka gi oto, maka O bu Chukwu n’akwu ezigbo ugwu olu”.* I know you are not dead but resting from your labours, with strong belief that at the trump of the Lord at His coming you will rise, and we shall meet to part no more. May God Almighty strengthen your entire family especially your wife, (Mama) to bear this irreparable loss in Jesus name. Adieu Daddy.

Tribute to Dr Chukwulozie Mbaneme.

Ordinarily, penning down a Tribute to somebody I have come to regard as a confidant is not what I had envisaged to embark on at the beginning of this year but who am I to question the decision of the Almighty God,the creator of the universe.
At the early hours of the new year I had called in my usual way to wish him a happy new year but was downcast when his pretty daughter IFEYINWA picked the receiver with a subdued smattering voice to inform me that my mentor has gone to meet with his creator.
It was a very devastating blow and a sad news to stomach.
I knew Dr Mbaneme as far back as 1993, when I was a staff of Interstate Securities limited,a stockbroking firm while he was our regular client.
He was more of a father figure to me because his wealth of advice to me has helped me to become a new me and to an extent to what I have achieved as a human being.
He was a man that will always be restless in his efforts to render assistance to anybody until he achieved his results.
I think one of his greatest faults lies on championing other people's course at his own detriment which according to him is legitimate but in all he was a jolly good fellow.
Dr Chukwulozie Mbaneme could mean different things to many people but to me he was my guardian angel and somebody whose subtle but emotional advice will be sorely missed at this point that I needed it most.
I remember vividly before the demise of my Wife in the year 2018, he visited us at the hospital and offered his prayers to her and was also in my house for hours after her death to console me because he knew my wife and it pained him that she had to prematurely exit this sinful world so early.
It is very painful to me because it will be very difficult if not impossible to meet such a rare breed again but my only consolation is that he lived a life that was worthy of emulation and the legacies he left behind will open doors to the beautiful family he left behind.
I am very much aware that death is a necessary end that will come at the appointed time and also that the end of life is death .
I pray that the Almighty God will grant his family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss and may his gentle soul rest in peace till we meet to part no more.
Adiu Dr Chukwulozie Mbaneme.
