Hi Chandra,

Thanks for sharing this - it was lovely.

I found it really interesting because my grandfather passed away almost 2 years ago and his name was Charles Bishop Dwight III. Small world huh?

Take care,

Dearest Reiko, Yoko

I was so surprised and shocked to hear your father had passed away through Mieko’s phone call from Boston.
I know what a loss this must be to you. Any words are not much comfort at a time like this, but I just wanted to say,
I am here to help you in any way I can.

Sincerely,
Makoto Shibagaki

"In the end, only three things matter:
How much you loved,
how gently you lived, and
how gracefully you let go
of things not meant for you."   Buddha

Bishop Nakamura loved much and many ... He walked among us
with grace, wisdom, humility, and laughter ! Always the laughter !!!
He has let go of this shell here on earth ... He will always be in
our hearts ... He will be remembered ... He will be loved ...

In loving remembrance of "Grandpa Namu Namu"

~ Life never dies, although we live....In midst of change and death,
only the forms shall pass away...and not the spirit's breath.

~ The consciousness can never die....although it seems to fade, it doth
but pass to other forms which thoughts and acts have made.

~ "There is no death," all nature cries...The rose will reappear,
its petals will more perfect be after the winter drear.

Although, I have not had the privilege to meet Bishop Dwight Nakamura; I feel that I know him through his daughter Chandra. Chandra is one with high standards, great expectations, an exceptional example of being the best we can be. It can be attributed to Bishop Nakamura who I believe to be a spiritual leader in his own right. This is the legacy he has left for his congregation, friends and most of all his family.
It is also, reassuring to know there is hope that we will be able be with our loved ones in the next life.
With deepest sympathy, much love and Aloha to you and your family Chandra.

I am so blessed to have met Bishop Dwight Nakamura at one of our LDS Cultural Activities. He was like a breath of fresh air and like a little boy in a candy store, talking to people and partaking in the many different kinds of ethnic foods. What a joy it was to have his sweet spirit with us that evening. Thank you, Bishop Nakamura, for leaving your footprint on my heart. Aloha...for now...until we meet again!
