Ellie was my port in the storm of early motherhood in the 60 and living in Pleasant Ridge in Michigan. She was an incredible role model for me and we laughed lots. Our husbands were the subject of lots of our humor and joys. I am sending prayers to you Rob, Julia, David and Dennis and grandchildren

Ellie O'Leary Riber                    St. Patrick's Day
                                   March 17, 2017
St. Patrick's Day makes me think of Ellie O'Leary Riber. She had more characteristics than red hair that fit in with her having Irish heritage. All of us remember how much fun she was to be around. She also had strong loyal ties. She was such a loving wife, mother, and groandmother. How fortunate we all were to have known her and to have been related with her.

Dear Riberrelatives, it is very sad to lose a wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. We have not seen much of eachother these past years, which is too bad, but I will always have fond memories of the kindness Aunt Ellie showered upon us when we were kids. Nothing like romping around outside all day and than returning to the generous call of a freshly made delicious peach cobbler....

I used to be the housekeeper for Ellie and Rob,until I moved away. She would always say" If you're ever in town.. Please stay with us! " I did on many occasions. She and Rob did a lot of traveling together over their lifetime. They had many great stories to tell. They even had a chance to meet my kids and share some of their amazing stories with them as well. She was like FAMILY to me. She will surely be missed by all who ever knew her. My heart aches for the family.

The first time I met Ellie it was at White's house in NY, she made me laugh and I had the pleasure to talk to her for a long time. The last time was in Ocala, Fl couple years ago, we had a good time with her, she was funny, smart and everything she was saying it was incredible funny, one those people who could make you laugh, just laugh. She will be missed forever. My condolences to everyone in her family, especially Robert.

so many good memories of Ellie! The Potters Nyes and Ribers spent many good times from watching Buffalo Bills football to dinners and picnics. Several July 4th events too. Our moving to Florida party was hosted by Ellie and Sue Bergren and many many friends. Ellie and Sue made sure everyone (females) would be wearing my handcrafted earrings! Ellie was one of my first earring ladies and sold them by wearing them everywhere. Ellie and Rob and Pete and I went on several very long cross country ski adventures too. So many good times Bev Ellie and I were all the same age and celebrated many birthday lunches together. Worked at the Union Univ. Church Bazaar each Christmas. Ellie will be greatly missed by many and especially me. Lots of love to her family.  Joan

Ellie &Rob meet

March 5, 2017

Rob & Ellie meet on the train to the 1958 Ohio State Rose Bowl trip. Ellie would would not have anything to do with me, because I was a pledge and she was a junior. The fraternity that l belonged to required your grades from your second quarter of your sophomore year to go active. After Ellie graduated she moved To Dayton Rob's home town to start teaching. She got a apartment with her best friend Nancy Turner (Bachman). Rob would come home to date Ellie. We would triple date with Nancy with my cousin John and my father. I proposed to her that year. We married June 25 and started our life together in California .

I met Ellie about 20 years ago and it was instant like for both of us. I loved her stories of her family and the adventures she and Rob went on. I do not ever remember her not smiling. She was a good friend and I will miss her dearly.

Dan and I have so many happy memories of times with Eleanor...for me, it all started when she was 10 years old, and I was 15...I met Dan's little sister...and I had never had a little sister before..so it was fun, going to movies together, Sunday dinner, family picnics and many other good times....then when Rob came into the picture, that was great, too,  as we've shared stories, holidays and vacations....living many miles apart has made it a little more difficult....but the wonderful memories of that "little sister" will always be in my heart!
