He was always so calm ... feels strange referring to him in the past tense. Whether it be conducting the Watchtower Study or giving a Public Talk while working in Audio Visual or just chatting with him. He really had the peace that comes with serving Jehovah. He was a deep thinker. He had such a pleasant, warm disposition. Humble. A wonderful example of what it meant to be spiritual and to live for the hope ahead. He has successfully completed his spiritual journey. If I do likewise, I look forward to seeing him in paradise.

Sis Darien, Donna, Andrea, Rachelle and Sherill and your families

On behalf of the Ledgister/ Brown family I just wanted to express our sincere condolences. Over the years it was 24 and 90, I have such fond memories of our families spending time together, especially the book study and those Saturday nights preparing our Watchtowers. Bro Darien was so calm, patient, loving and so willing to expend himself for others and our family has experienced this many many times over the years. He was an excellent example of one who loved Jehovah, loved his family and loved Jehovah’s people and so now I look forward to the future with confidence to the day Jehovah calls - and he will answer - with Love Shirley & Kirk Williams

Growing up as a child in Circuit 2, I have always seen and heard Br. Darren as a spiritual man. He was always busy working at assemblies and convention, setting a fine example for us younger ones. I remember him sharing his experience on a convention program about the challenges he experienced with his health and how he trusted in Jehovah to give him the strength to endure. Since then every time I see him and talk with him I became convinced that he loved Jehovah. He will always be remembered as a man of faith and I look forward to seeing him enjoying everlasting life in good health. Jehovah will remember him as a friend.

Brother Darien has been a beautiful man who I have learned so much from since I was a little girl. My most recent treasure, has been going on cargo ships with him to share the promises from the bible of nuff niceness to come with those who sail the seas. I admired his reliability, patience, persistence and his bubbling joy in supporting Harbor Witnessing in Jamaica. We had good times! To Sister Darien and the girls, thank you so much for sharing Brother Darien with all of us, our lives have been better because of knowing him and because of knowing you all as well. Your family is outstanding! I wish for you the words of Isaiah 57:18 which says, “I have seen his ways, But I will heal him and lead him And restore comfort to him and to his mourning ones.” I look forward to seeing you all together in the resurrection soon to come! Much love to you!

My beautiful memories of 'Br D' as he was affectionately known by my family and I span some 40 yrs. From when I started to study the bible as a young child along with my mother up until now in my adult life as a wife and mother. The sorrow the family in going through right now having lost such a loving brother, husband, father & grandfather is shared by Lyndon, Emilia and I and we send sincere condolences to Sister D, Donna, Andrea, Rachelle, Sherill and his entire extended family. We truly look forward to seeing Br D once again when he is resurrected and when our grief will become jubilation! Stay Strong in our glorious Hope.

Br D served his God Jehovah "in Spirit and in Truth" and he did so with strong faith, dedication and loyalty. He was not just a 'Preacher of Righteousness' but a 'Doer of God's Will'. He set such an excellent example for me of what a 'Spiritual Man' should look like.

As an Elder in the Harbour View Congregation, his disciplinarian personality was tempered by his loving kindness, his ability to feel empathy for his fellow man and best of all by his Wit. Always making us laugh. Always pointing you to the 'silver lining behind the clouds'.

As a trained teacher and a man with a thirst for knowledge, one could never get a ride in his car without learning something by the time your journey came to an end. I had many many of those rides (as so many of the friends in our Hall) and I truly enjoyed them with his children.

He will truly be missed and forever in our hearts ! Until we meet again! Just Around Corner!

My dear uncle Martin will always be missed. He always have an endearing smile, a cool guy! He always encourage me to reach for the stars as he would call it. I recall him getting me involved, as a distributor of noni juice as he was himself and would explain the health benefits. He always focus on health, good attitude, he loved his family. I never seen him upset. Glad that I saw him in New York in February 2020 and do have pictures to treasure.
Rest In Peace Uncle Martin

Over the years I have spent countless hours at the Darien’s and not once have I ever seen Martin get upset. That was one of the the things I admired most about him, his ability to remain calm regardless of the situation. His dedication to his family and his religious beliefs were unsurpassed.
There was no way of knowing that seeing Martin in February of this year would have been the last time. I will miss that calm, friendly reassuring smile.
To Mar, the girls and their families, I know that the memories that you hold dear will get you through this difficult time.
Martin’s diligence, commitment and devotion to service assures us that he is resting peacefully in the presence of his creator.
Keep the faith and hope we can get together soon.
Love you all.

It's with much sadness that I write this tribute to Uncle Martin as he is affectionately known to the family. You have shared in excess of 40 years amongst the family and it was always pleasurable. Your quiet and respectable demeanor was exemplary as to your conduct amongst us. Thanks for instilling godly character in your family and may Jehovah comfort them in your absence. Thanks for your peaceful walk while here and rest in peace.

Our sincere condolences to the Darien's family, we feel for you even though we do not fully understand what you are going through.
Brother Darien was dependable, hospitable and generous. He assisted us when our car broke down while coming from the Assembly, he was willing to travel from Harbour View to Spanish Town road to towed us home to Harbour View. We are assured that he is in Jehovah's memory awaiting the hope that he cherished, the Resurrection.

“Father D” “.. the only man I can consciously remember giving the name father because of his love. He was the best, a great friend and an amazing figure in my life. I can remember the enthusiasm he always puts in his voice when he speaks and I will always remember the sound of his voice, especially the times when he made contact to me. Father D earned a status of being compassionate, a true follower of Jehovah, a willing imperfect human to be perfect in the description that God sets down.

Father D will surely be missed, will always be loved and remembered, will always have a home where ever he maybe and the memories I have with him will remain with me..

Blessed be the day of resurrection when I can bond hugs with this great man again..

I met brother Darien when I was a boy back in the seventies and encountered him a few times as an adult. Just being around him made me feel save, gave me a sense of stability, made me want to serve Jehovah. He made the truth an attractive place. I will always thank almighty God for raising up men like these to shepherd his people. He was truly one of those lovely gifts in men, To his dear family, we share your loss and say to you, cherish the memories, be comforted by the hope!

My grandfather was a very good spiritual example for me. I remember seeing him going into field service everyday and admiring his zeal and consistency in the ministry. Working with him was always enjoyable. He always made sure that I participated whenever we worked together and that I ate and drank enough throughout the service day.
He was a jovial man who always made jokes and had a warm, approachable personality. I could sense that he cared about me very much because he was always happy to see me and took a sincere interest in my life. Even during his final weeks when he was very ill, he still made the effort to congratulate me for my exam results and for graduating. Generally, I could always expect a call from him whenever something very important happened in my life.
For these reasons I will miss him very much and I have no doubt that, as the faithful and courageous person he was, he will remain in Jehovah's memory. I look forward to seeing him in the new world.

Martin Darien was a genuine friend and a mentor. He has left a spiritual legacy for all of us. We are so thankful that we were able to spend some time together in New Jersey last year. We know that Martin is in the sleeping car of the train and will wake up when it reaches the New World destination. We are convinced that neither death nor life nor governments will be able to separate us from God’s love. We will certainly miss Martin but we know that he is in Jehovah’s memory.
Our deepest sympathies to the entire family.

Bro Darien thank you for your great example as a spiritual brother and father. In today's world where not much example is given of strong spiritual men and father figures you have done a great representation of what that should be. Growing up listening to your talks and seeing your great laughter I know Jehovah has been proud. I wish your family and friends my love and support. Thank you for being a good person in this world.
Sincere Regards

Bro Darien will truly be missed. It was always a pleasure working with him and being instructed by him. His words were always mild and seasoned with salt. I know Jehovah will keep him in memory and I pray He strengthens the rest of the family as we wait to see his smile again.

My beloved brother Martin,  Brothers used to say we were twins , thinking that we were fleshy brothers.  A gentle, very kind generous and loving brother. Reminds me of  Roman's 5:7 " a good man" willing to go the extra mile, motivated by a loving concern for others.  On numerous occasions I have been a recipient of these qualities especially when we were at Giltress Street Windward Congregation.  An example was when three of us as youths decided to  Auxiliary Pioneer  in the Blue Mountain area where there was a need.  He made the sacrifice to take us there . He checked on us while there,  and when a number of persons showed interest in  the truth,  he came way up there to give a public talk at Penline Castle.  This is just  a small sample of his Christian qualities.  From the James family our deepest sympathy to his Wife , daughters and relatives.  May Jehovah "the Father of tender mercies,  and God of all Comfort " comfort you in this time of bereavement.

From the Lowe's Family. Brother D affectionately called by Marjorie was not just an elder to us but our father and Friend. Brother D was always there for us, at our family gathering, funerals and weddings.

Personally i Marjorie could talk with him about my joys, fears, anything that i had a challenge with. We would laugh together. He certainly served Jehovah right down to the end. He showed real love, compassion, kindness, sacrifice, passion for us all.

When i could not climb the hills in our preaching territory, here goes brother D offering to help. You would never imagine he was sick since he was always at our meetings, assembles, conventions and since Covid-19 Zoom working and caring for the congregation. A brorher who is high tech as well, taught all of us things that an elderly person would not expect to know.

I am happy i had the privilege to be of Brother Darian and his families life.

Condolence to his wife sister Darian and familly.

Just a little while longer we will see Brother D.

Marjorie and the rest of Lowe family.

Bro. Darien is in the very heart of Jehovah, and he will remain in mine.
How can I not ALWAYS remember that contagious smiling face, that endaring personality and that soft encouraging voice that always have upbuilding utterances. Sis Darien you know that I am speaking truth. His patience outweighs many.
Sis. Darien and the rest of the family, your loss is mine. May Jehovah continue to help you manage the short time that he is on leave from you. His vacation will soon be complete and he will be right back where he loves to eat.
Just allow him this little time 'cause Jehovah says "this one is mine"
Soon his eyes will be open and no more your heart will be broken
Jubilation, happiness, excitement and joy are all the good your heart will employ.

I have the fondest memories of my Uncle Martin. I always admired my Uncle who lived in Kingston. My fondest memories were staying with him and the family as a child whilst recovering after my accident, for that I am  truly grateful. Uncle Martin was always quiet, calm and considered with a razor sharp wit. I admired his entrepreneurship, he was always exploring better. He was a man of honesty integrity and a staunch represtative of his faith. I will truly miss him. My thoughts and prayers are with Aunt Mar, Donna ( Marie), Rochelle, Andrea and Sherill . Love Trudy, Mel and family x

Growing up in Harbour View congregation was beautiful!. They are so many memories that “ don’t leave like people do, they always stay with you”...and that includes Brother “D”. He was an elder of few words but his deeds spoke volumes and are truly memorable! I will cherish memories of his patience, kindness, encouragement, love for Jehovah, zeal for the ministry and the fact that he was Always willing to go the extra mile to assist.

Uncle Martin

October 22, 2020

I have so many fond memories of my uncle; he has always been a traveller. I remember one year he came to England for some “training” and had to make his way there.  I jumped up and volunteered at the time, then got out the paper map at the time and realised it was Moffatt -Scotland -5 ½  hours drive ! .We chatted on route and finally reached the BBC broadcasting training centre. We walked into reception and there was a flurry of people around as we were shown to his room. We came back down to silence and were directed to a conference room, I was thinking come on Uncle Martin but he wasn’t rushing at all. We reached the room , which was small , but filled with people . I thought oh no !! only to hear “ Aha ladies and gentleman – May I introduced you to the eminent Mr Martin Darien from Jamaica Broadcasting Company JBC – coming to deliver the training program to us this week”  Well I was totally blown away  .  You see he was the international Expert ,here to train British broadcasters. Felt so proud of him and realised that ,that air of calm and confidence he had come from both his faith and that acquired knowledge/experience. That was something to really aspire to.    May he rest in External peace     .

Sincere Condolences to whole family

Bro. Darien was a spiritual father figure to me and a big help to the Blair family in learning the truth. While we were in Harbour View Congregation he was instrumental in our development. I often reflect on my brothers there and the Darien family is one of them. A meek, humble and soft spoken father and husband is exemplary for me.
1 Thessalonians 1: 3 for we continually remember your faithful work, your loving labor, and your endurance because of your hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the presence of our God and Father.  4 For we know, brothers loved by God, his choosing of you....
May Jehovah remember you in the book of life. Jehovah's blessings on the family
