His Life
May 24, 2017

Mr. Eric Orlando Cumberlander was born on September 1, 1974 to the late Waymon and Maycine (Winston) Cumberlander, Sr aka “Pops and Muffin”. Eric peacefully entered into rest on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at his home in Ellenwood, Georgia.

The Lord Almighty whose in control of all, sent his angels to bring Eric from the earth to add a little more beauty, kindness and goodness to His heavenly vineyard.

Eric confessed faith and hope in Christ at an early age and united with the St. John Community Baptist Church. Where he became a member of G.L. Fanning Young Adult Choir and Jr. Usher Board.

Eric was a graduate of Lanett High School class of 1993. During this time he proudly received the Woodsmen of the World Award for being an excellent history student. Eric later furthered his education at Auburn University of Montgomery, where he earned a B.S. Degree in Psychology in 1998. He then went on to obtain his MBA at Western Governors University in 2016.

Eric was joined in Holy Matrimony to Erica Jones Cumberlander aka “Big Baby” on August 30, 2008. Into this union two sons were born, Ethan Casey aka “Ethan-E” and Evan Blake aka “Big Evan,” are also affectionately known as his “little buddies”. He was an excellent father, meticulously caring for his sons. His favorite activities with the boys were weekly trips to QuickTrip, watching movies & tv shows like Dallas, WWF, Star Wars, Greatest American Hero, Underdog, Superman, Sanford & Son, & Goodtimes. He enjoyed making up stories with them night after night, in their ongoing saga of Zolton & Golton. He loved his children, his boys were his life.

Big Eazy” as he was affectionately known, was a gentle giant. He always had a joke for every situation. He had a talent for making you laugh, even at yourself. He was an avid historian, philosopher, life coach and true believer in holistic healing. He had an answer for everything. He researched everything from healing stones and herbs, to human behavior. He was a thinker and mentor, with an exquisite mind. He was always well informed on any topic when he was challenged by anyone. You will notice throughout the program there is a nickname for almost everyone. This was a “Big Eazy” tradition to rename all of his loved ones. He even renamed his dogs that he affectionately called “The Mutt Family.”
