Dearest Grandma-in-love,

There are many things I wished I had the chance to say. I'm happy I got to know you and the love you freely gave. You openly spread so much love even though we never got to meet physically, I feel your absence greatly.

My favourite memory of you would be the beauty you radiated on the day of Kayo's naming ceremony. I remember your outfit, your glorious gele and the abundance of prayers. What struck me was how ecstatic you were and the way you portrayed such grace and beauty to an online event! I was marvelled at the gesture of love. And love is what you've always shown, from your sunday phone calls to the prayers you always shared I say thank you Grandma.
I will miss your love, your warmth and the sound of your voice.

I'm grateful for the time I got to know you. You will be forever missed

Today, I pay a special tribute to an exceptional woman who has a special place in my heart. Despite societal stereotypes associated with the roles of Mother, Grandma, and Great Grandma, she has exemplified warmth and kindness. Since our first meeting, she has embraced me with love and acceptance, showcasing a rare nurturing spirit. Though not one to make frequent calls, every conversation with her is filled with heartfelt prayers. Mama, you will forever be cherished. GOOD NIGHT MAMA. (Adeniyi Akanbi)

Dear grandma,

I am grateful to God for your wonderful life and the priviledge of having you as my grandmother. You were not just my grandmother; you were the mother I never had the chance to enjoy. You were a fountain of strength and wisdom, a strong pillar of support during the time of trials. Your phrase, "A pę ko to jęun, ki ję ibaję" always gave with me hope.

Thank you for leading us in the way of the Lord. Your faith, prayerfulness, and the love you displayed, not only to your immediate family, but also to my friends, always inspire me to be a better version of myself. I have never seen anyone that is more forgiving, kind, generous, understanding, and believes in people, even against all odds.

I thank God for the gift of your presence in my life. We will always love and miss you. Rest well, my dear grandma.

TRIBUTE TO A RARE GEM, AND A MOTHER IN A MILLION

Appreciating and accepting the loss of a mother doesn’t happen in a moment. It takes years to appreciate the impact of what has happened and who is gone.

On that fateful day Sunday February 18th at 9.20pm, my sweet mother passed on to glory peacefully. Three days before then she was praying as usual, but when she knelt down to round off the many hours of prayers with a recitation of the grace of our Lord, she could not get up on her own and she could not talk again. That was how she was taken to the hospital in the RCCG Camp City. Earlier that morning , I had greeted her, and she prayed for me as usual, (Ashabi oko mi, wa a lo’re wa a bo’re o. Jesu a wa ninu oko yin o. Wa ta,wa jere o) not knowing that this would be our last discussion.

O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

Mum's life was a testament to her boundless generosity and unwavering devotion to her Lord and saviour whom she served to the very end.

Her heart overflowed with compassion, reaching out to all who crossed her path with open arms and a giving spirit. Her home was open to everyone, and her hospitality made everyone feel important.

She was the most loving , humble, compassionate, understanding and family-oriented woman, that I have ever come across.

She got married to my dad at her youthful age and despite her royal lineage, Mum wholeheartedly supported her husband’s endeavours and education. She held her in-laws in high esteem and affection. Her remarkable care, patience and adaptability fostered unity within the family. Mama was exceptionally accommodating.

Mama's love for her family and siblings was evident in her attentive affection and care especially of her mother. She shared a particularly strong bond with her only brother. Mama died on the same day her mother died. Which is an interesting and unique coincidence.

Throughout the challenges in her marriage, my mum remained resolute, disregarding any advice to part ways with her husband. She exemplified the Proverb 31 woman, and she was the Ruth of her time. She was a doting , caring and loving wife to my dad. She epitomized the virtues of a devoted wife, nurturing robust relationships with her children, and tendering devotedly to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, in-laws, uncles, aunts and cousins.

Mama’s life epitomized selflessness and dedication. She was wholly devoted to the welfare of her cherished children. Mum's nurturing soul extended to her culinary talents, as she lovingly prepared meals for any child who sought refuge in her home. Her caring nature, coupled with her straightforward demeanour and unwavering resilience, left an indelible

mark on all who knew her.

Amidst the most challenging trials and vicissitudes of life, like the heartbreaking losses of her beloved son and daughter, Mama's faith remained unwavering and unshaking. She bore everything with Christian fortitude, inspired by the story of Job.

Mama was a pillar of strength and a wellspring of prayer, she will be forever cherished and remembered with profound love and gratitude.

She fervently prayed daily, for the well-being of all her children , grandchildren ,great grandchildren and their spouses. She always mentioned their names one by one when she prayed for them.

Mama, you taught us love ,forgiveness, patience and endurance. You taught us how to pray and led by example and it is no wonder you had just finished praying fervently when Jesus came to take you home.

Mama was a committed, consistent, faithful, devoted, and dedicated woman of God. She was an ardent follower of Our Lord Jesus Christ and She was a faithful steward of God in terms of her resources. Mama was a faithful tither, and she recognized the blessings bestowed upon her by God.

She ensured that she tithed with neat and new notes even till her passing. Her dedication to peace was a guiding light to us. Mama usually quells rifts and diffuses tensions ,with heartfelt apologies in the nick of time before discord could take root.

She stood as a beacon of steadfast faith and hope. Without fail, she would always be the first to call me upon my return from every trip, intuitively without knowing the day of my arrival.

Her devout life of prayer serves as a profound example for me, she is my Gold and my treasure. She was my first doctor, teacher, my mentor, my confidant, my gist-partner and above all, my closest friend. Mama, stood as my dad after the passing of her sweetheart and she stood alone for 32 years after daddy’s passing, only God can know the amount of inner strength you possessed to do that.

You are a precious gift from God, and you possessed so much beauty ( inside out), grace, love and patience. You touched my heart in so many ways. Even on dark days your strength and smiles made me realize I had an angel beside me. I do not know how I will do life without you. You taught me to live life to the fullest, I promise to keep your legacy. You did not have millions in your bank account, but you left a legacy worth much more.

Who Else would I Sing "Iya ni wura iyebiye. Ti a kole fowora......" to on every mother's

Day?

My Florence Nightingale!!! As I fondly call you . Your absence leaves a profound void in my heart. My dear Gold, a beacon of strength, prayer, and solace.

May you find eternal peace and rest in the embrace of the lord. Amen

According to Proverbs 31:29

“Many women have done wonderful things, but you’ve outclassed them all!”

Sleep well my Gold of inestimable value until the resurrection morning when we shall meet to part no more.

"Iya Ashabi-Ade. Abiyamo tooto, Sun n re o”.

Dear Grandma,

As I sit here reflecting on the memories we shared, my heart overflows with love and gratitude for the incredible woman you were. Your presence in our lives was a beacon of light, guiding us with your unwavering spirituality, boundless love, and unwavering support.

You were more than just a grandmother to me; you were a source of strength and wisdom, a comforting presence in times of need, and a guiding light through life's challenges. Your faith was unwavering, and your devotion to spirituality touched the lives of everyone around you. Your prayers were a source of comfort and solace, a reminder of the power of faith and the importance of holding onto hope even in the darkest of times.

But beyond your spirituality, Grandma, you were the epitome of love and caring. Your heart was as vast as the ocean, overflowing with compassion and kindness for all. You had a way of making everyone feel loved and cherished, of enveloping us in your warm embrace and soothing our worries with your gentle words.

Your love knew no bounds, Grandma, and it extended far beyond our family. You were a pillar of support for so many, always there to lend a listening ear, offer a word of encouragement, or extend a helping hand to those in need. Your generosity knew no bounds, and your selflessness was truly inspiring.

And oh, how you brought our family together, Grandma. You were the glue that held us all together, the heart and soul of our family unity. Your love and presence filled our home with warmth and laughter, creating cherished memories that will live on in our hearts forever.

Though you may no longer be with us in body, Grandma, your spirit lives on in the love and memories you left behind. You will always hold a special place in my heart, and I will forever be grateful for the love, wisdom, and guidance you bestowed upon me.

Rest in peace, dear Grandma, knowing that your legacy of love will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew and loved you.

With all my love,

Oluwatola Oluwatosin Omosehin

What’s popping grandma?

I avoided writing this till now because I found it hard to accept that you are gone.

My mum’s mum, my mum’s gold, my mum, my constant shield of love, care, and prayer.

I always knew you to be there and always felt you would be there.

My ever-present prayer angel, My angel in the form of a grandmother.

You taught me to stand dignified in prayer despite life’s curve balls.

Mama epitomized for me peace be still, I thought you would forever be there to pray for me.

Mama would say ‘‘ti omo ti omo, ti oko ti oko , ti aya ti aya, ti egbon ti egbon” as she mentioned everyone’s name and I meant everyone.

I would listen intently to her prayers looking for jokes to share with her emanating from the prayers.

Mama took every one of my banters with grace and a smile only epitomized of one who loved and knew me.

I pray I can see the world as you did, your vision was clouded with love and laced with peace.

Mama, I love you and as I struggle to write this in tears, I don’t want to say goodbye.

I can’t say goodbye, so grandma, what’s popping?

Today as I ask what's popping, I remember your numerous replies.

‘‘Prayer is popping, Jesus is popping, Amala is popping, Iyan is popping, twins are popping ’’.

Today I lost another one of the little lights in my heart because I lost your hug, your smile, your prayers but never your memories.

Memories of a life that has prayed, lived, loved, and been loved. Mama’s life is amazing and complete.

I say praise the Lord in your voice and it rings forever because your life is one to praise God for till eternity.

Today I can confidently say with tears pouring ‘‘Heaven is popping’’.

As you spread your wings and fly, as God takes you back, “heaven is popping’’.

I know you have gone to rest but it is hard grandma.

As God takes you back, all I can say is Praise the Lord, and Hallelujah you are home.

Today grandma, Love and tears are popping.

Enjoy heaven's embrace gran and continue to praise your saviour.

Sorry, I can’t say goodbye, so I leave it as What’s popping grandma?

And the gentleness of your touch.
You had a talent for letting me know
That you loved me so much.

Our dear Grandma,
I missed you and your prayers,
As I used to call you PRAYER WARRIOR GRANDMA.
You were so amazing a mother and Grandmother, so caring, loving and so encouraging. I remember the last time I visited you before your exit to glory, I had a little time praying for you as usual but your PRAYER was like we were in a prayer conference, I called and you took time to pray so much that I said "Mama Adura"
You won't allow any Man of God to visit you and go without collecting gift from you. I still remember that statement "Please collect it from me, a man of God should not come and go empty handed" waooh! What a devoted Christian you were.
Grandma, we know you are sleeping at the bosom of our Lord and Savior and we shall see you at the resurrection morning. 1Thess 4:13-17 is our witness and consolation.
Sleep on till we meet again Grandma.

I miss you so much, my G. But I know you are certainly sitting at the right hand of the father. I am taking my time to process this, and gradually, I'll fit the pieces. And even if I don't, I AM THAT I AM remains God.
I know you lived a long, beautiful life. However, when you live long enough, you see different sides of life. Which you did. But you remained steasfast and resolute in your faith even in hard times. Experiences that have ironically dovetailed nicely.
I have learnt so much form your life. Some of those lessons I am currently impuissant to articulate but in due course they will find expression. I can only give an anecdote of my experience with you, so I will choose what I am most greatful for.
I am grateful for the beautiful memories we have. A few of them I will share with the world to see how beautiful you are. All the memories will remind me of how great our God is, and some to remind of the mandate to pray . I'm glad the memories that I have of you are beautiful. And I am glad we laughed a lot.
I love you and miss you my G.
Sunre o, Florence I am ( This is our private joke), Iya asabi, My G. I love you so so much, and I am glad you know I do.

My dearest Grandma,

Words seem small to express the immense hole left in my hearts by your passing. Your love was a constant embrace, in the days of my folly, you literarily held me up and close to the family, you ensured that I did not fall off or fall out of destiny. You were not just my grandmother, but a pillar of strength and unwavering faith.
Thank you for the countless ways you nurtured me. You instilled in me the importance of prayer, a practice that continues to be a source of comfort and guidance for me. You showed me the beauty of holiness, and the richness of serving Christ. You're never tired of teaching me the word of God.
Your Love went beyond words. There was no treat, no meal, that you wouldn't set aside a portion just for me, a small but powerful symbol of the immense space you held for me in your heart. when things goes bad, and they always do, you provided a safe havens for me to run into, you never condemn but you always prayed.
Though you may be gone, your legacy lives on. You taught me the importance of faith, family, and the boundless capacity for love. You will forever be a guiding light, a reminder of the strength I hold within, and the unwavering love of God.
Rest in peace, Grandma. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
Your Grandson, Oluwaseun Adegbile

In the heart of our family's cherished memories, there exists a beacon of warmth and love that will forever radiate in the legacy of Grandma Florence Adegborioye. With every passing moment, her gentle spirit continues to whisper through the corridors of time, weaving tales of unconditional love, boundless wisdom, and unwavering strength.

Grandma Florence was not just a matriarch; she was the cornerstone upon which our family's foundation was built. Her presence was a symphony of sensory delights, each note carrying the essence of her undying affection and unparalleled devotion. From the moment you stepped into her embrace, you were enveloped in a cocoon of comfort, where the scent of freshly baked bread mingled with the aroma of simmering spices, creating an intoxicating harmony that danced through the air.

In Grandma's kitchen, every meal was a masterpiece, crafted with love and seasoned with stories of generations past. The clinking of pots and pans provided the soundtrack to our shared moments, as we sat around the table, basking in the warmth of her smile and the melody of her laughter. With each bite, we tasted not just the flavors of her culinary creations but also the richness of her love, poured into every dish with meticulous care and boundless affection.

But Grandma's love extended far beyond the confines of her kitchen; it encompassed every facet of our lives, nurturing us through triumphs and tribulations alike. She was our steadfast guide, offering words of encouragement when the world seemed bleak and a gentle nudge in the right direction when we lost our way. Her wisdom, forged through a lifetime of experiences, served as a beacon of light, illuminating the path to kindness, compassion, and resilience.

As her grandchildren, i was blessed to be the recipient of Grandma's boundless love. She showered me with affection, each hug a testament to the depth of her devotion, each whispered word a reminder of the infinite love that flowed from her heart. She was my confidante, my cheerleader, and my rock, standing steadfast through the storms of life, her unwavering faith guiding us all through even the darkest of nights through are Prayers for all of us. she is dedicated and committed to Christ all her life and her Prayers Must have made it because we stay blessed.

And as she raised us, her legacy became etched into the very fabric of our beings, shaping us into the individuals we are today. Her lessons, though imparted with gentle grace, were profound in their impact, teaching us the value of integrity, the power of forgiveness, and the beauty of unconditional love. In her embrace, we found solace; in her words, we found wisdom; and in her love, we found the strength to weather life's storms with grace and dignity.

Though Grandma Florence may no longer walk among us in the physical sense, her spirit lives on in the cherished memories we hold dear and the values we carry forward. She may have bid farewell to this earthly realm, but her love remains an eternal flame, lighting the path for generations to come. And as we gather to honor her memory, let us celebrate not just the life she lived but the love she shared, knowing that her legacy will forever burn bright in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Love You Grandma, You will always be Remembered.
