Wow!! When I got the reminder and saw its your 70th, I was joyous and just about the same time I remembered oh mummy is gone. This is to show that to me you are not dead but alive with the saints celebrating everyday of your life.
It would have been nice to celebrate this with you, knowing you as the organiser and of course there would have been plenty to eat but in your absence I celebrate the good life you lived which is more important than gaining the whole world and loosing eternity.
Happy posthumous 70th birthday to a great woman with a large heart.
You forever live in my memory and God will continue to protect the family you left behind.
My mum (Mrs V T Bamisile) misses you as she will not stop talking about you every now and then but her consolation is that you are up there with the saints. Adieu Ma

I was just sharing about your caring and motherly attributes to some young ladies yesterday. You would have been 70 today, but alas it wasn't mean to be! Nevertheless, i am thankful for the times we shared and I'm certain that you are resting joyfully in the blossom of our Lord. Continue to enjoy eternal rest. I will always love and never forget you.

What a day to remember you! Today you would have been 70 years on earth but you're now with the Lover of your soul. It is painful for us that we couldn't celebrate here with you as we did when you turned 50 and 60. But we are also comforted that you're now celebrating yonder for the privilege to serve while you were here despite the difficulties. All is well. Keep on living and singing to the praise of your Maker.

Your life was a testimony of what it means to be consumed with the zeal of the Lord's house. You were a mother, a beloved sister, a friend, a passionate follower of the Lord, and a giver to the core. Little wonder you went home on active service. You have impacted lives so positively and you've left a cherished memory behind. We are consoled by the fact that you've seen your Lord before death came calling. Now you are with the Heavenly Choir to sing the praises of the Lover of your soul. We miss you dearly and we will meet at the feet of the Lord to part no more.

Mummy the for the short time i got to know you. I learnt so many things a daughter can learn from a mother. I miss your smiles, your jokes, and ur advice. Your commitment to God till He called you home is so so amazing and worth learning from. In the hospital bed you still did not give up on God your maker but still had hope for a life again after then. When you talk you speak with wisdom. You are a blessing to me mum. I will forever miss you.

Aunty was a true mother in Israel, she reminds me of Deborah, the only female judge recorded in the book of judges. My only regret is that i never really got to thank her for all her love, kindness and mentoring.
I got married from Aunty's home in Yaba, she would take it upon herself to wake Doyin and myself to pray, she would fall asleep herself shortly afterwards sometimes, but she would wake us up..... She did this faithfully over a period of 3 months i think, and indeed we got married shortly afterwards within a year of each other, to the Glory of God. She would insist we had a share of the household chores and expenses training us to manage a home in the future, all this she did diligently and cheerfully. We would spend hours in her bedroom talking, mentoring etc. Aunty would embarrass you with love and care, trying to ensure that she was the first to either call you or text you on your birthday, she did this for everyone, my siblings will testify to this. Nothing was too much for Aunty to do for you, from catering at my wedding to catering at my Dad's funeral.(she brought alase's all the way from Lagos to Benin to feed us for about 3 days). When i spoke to you on your last birthday teasing you about your anticipated 70th birthday next year, little did i know that it was not to be so. Aunty, you will be greatly missed, your sense of humour, (you were always a jolly good fellow), your ability to cook up a storm (Fre jon at Easter, fresh fish etc) but most of all your ability to love others without expecting anything in return or even a sense of entitlement. You taught me so much by the way you lived your life and cared for others i only hope i will pass on this legacy too. But our loss is heavens gain. Rest on till the resurrection morning. Adieu.

Once again the inevitable has occurred when we are not yet ready or prepared for it. For Fola, just like what happened for her husband some years back, what started as a health hiccup, appearing initially to be well under control, becomes a ticket to Heaven. We are now for ever denied Fola's charming and always welcoming smile and her ability to deliver sincere and wise advice when requested, irrespective of how long the time since you last met.She and Dotun infused goodness into us friends without knowingly trying ,by their own examples of always striving to be helpful and positive.
For all of us living in UCH in the seventies and eighties,Christmas always started in the Lukanmbi house.Family friendships were reinforced at the Mummies' and Daddies' corners. Our children ,now Mums and Dads themselves, reminisce happily about those good times.
Doyin and Debo,we mourn with you for your loss. However you should be very proud that your Mum and Dad led such exemplary lives and are now surely Resting in Peace with God Almighty.

Big sis, my Aunty, Mummy Lukanmbi as I fondly call you. Your departure can be described as a collective loss to all that were opportuned to know you. But to me it is more than a loss, it cannot be explained.
Where do I start from? How can I adequately paint the picture of your departure? How do I conclude it?
It is very difficult for me to pen down a tribute to this exceptionally excellent and devoted woman and daughter of Zion. It is even more painful for me to refer to her in the past, more so as she died untimely. Sister Fola, Aunty Yetunde was an epitome of womanhood and service to her Creator. She was devoted and dedicated herself selflessly to everything she stood for. One of the ironies of life is human unpreparedness to encompass, despite its certainty, the inevitability of death, particularly of loved ones. This passing, if I must confess, is terribly painful, especially since I was not availed of the privilege to be with her during the period she was hospitalized/where she breathed her last.
The void created is BIG – the love, the special bonding, exhortations, prayers of agreement, occasional gastronomic adventure – ALL GONE FOVERER.
I miss you, my Big Sister, Olopo ewa (beauty), Ologe (elegant), olobe didun (good cook) , Eleto (good event planner), The General, Aunty mii toh dun (sweet Aunty), Mama to nta sansan bii eja osan.
Big Sis, you will however continue to live in my heart and I will continue to pray (as you would surely wish) for families, the oppressed, the church, genuine men of God, your children (biological and non-biological) and all the loved ones you left behind. You were a wise woman who buildeth her home. You were a virtuous woman and “your price is far above rubies”.
You loved the Lord, served Him diligently and died in Him. This is my consolation. We will surely meet at His feet to part no more.
I celebrate you Aunty Yetunde. Good night, good night, good night.

Miss you, mum. Adieu! Glad I have a friend like you when I get to heaven. How can I forget quickly, your interpretation of some scriptures, your poise to sing, the confidence you reposed in me in such short time made me know you were a believer in people and to sum it, you showed me how it was plain silly to cook beef using Maggie cubes and I since have not been able to stop myself telling anyone in their kitchen or mine (now I'm saying it online). Uh! Mummy mummy! Till we meet to part no more.

THANK YOU FOR THE MEMORIES

Fola and Dotun Lukanmbi were among the earliest friends we made on our taking up residence in Ibadan in 1971. Fola’s charming disposition coupled with Dotun’s incomparable wit and verve were the fabrics for enduring friendships! We had great times together. Among the memorable traditions of those years were the get-togethers at their home at the University College Hospital in Ibadan - the bonfires on Christmas Eve and the Good Friday revelry where Fola’s culinary talent always shone. Many of us simple non-Lagosians developed the love for ‘tapioca ’ and ‘frejohn’ at these gatherings!
The seeming downturn in the fortunes of Nigeria which dangled poverty in the faces of many academic and healthcare professionals in the mid-eighties and nineties scattered homes and families, friends and loved ones and brought an end to those good old days! Through those difficult years, Fola and Dotun remained our close and loyal friends. Separated by thousands of miles, Fola sought us out in Skipton (UK) on several occasions. Her last visit was in 2012 and only a few months ago, we discussed on the phone with Fola when the next UK visit would hold!
We will miss her love and friendship, but will always cherish the happy memories.

Rest, Fola in the bossom of our Lord.

I am still in shock that Mrs Lukanmbi has left us for eternity. I have lost a friend and confidant. A virtuous woman, an unpretensious christian, a  leader and courageous person.
I was to see her the day she died. But it was not to be. I believe she is in a heavenly abode, where the angels are praising God continuously. She loved to be where God is being exalted.
I lost a genuine friend. May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.

General Lukambi !! That's what many of us in the COD Wisdom Group call you. It was like we were in a dream when we heard that you have gone to be with the Lord. It can not possibly be, we told each other. Was it not just a few days ago that the two of us were laughing, hugging, singing and dancing with you? But for the fact that you were on a hospital bed, no one would have believed that you had the slightest medical concern. You were in such high spirit and you even assured us that you expect to be back on your feet early enough to take part in our son's upcoming marriage ceremony. The soul lifting songs that we sang together still ring in our ears. How come you left us so suddenly? Only our father in heaven knows why He chose to call you home at this time, and we can not but exalt Him for the legacy he had made possible for you to leave behind. It is not for nothing that we call you General. You were never afraid to speak your mind, and you put so much effort into the service of God that made you a humble, but great leader. We have no doubt that you are now in the midst of the angels of heaven, enjoying some of the melodious songs you taught us as the choir mistress of the Wisdom Group Choir. Adieu, our kind and loving big sister. Rest in perfect peace.

I celebrate a virtuous woman whose passing on to greater glory is still like a dream to me. It is a big blow and a very bitter pill to chew or swallow. You were not just a soldier but a General for Xhrist.
Your passion, commitment and consistency on issues concerning the church was enviable.
For me in particular, you were unapologetic about your love and respect despite the age difference. You were ready to contend with whatever contended with me, speaking with me at midnight as lovers do. Ready to take correction from young and old and quick to forgive at all times
Who will call me that pet name: “OLORI DOKPESI” genuinely with a BIG smile. Wisdom voices (CHOIR) which you handed over to me will miss you dearly for your notable contributions but join family and saints to celebrate your very impactful life.
Sleep on General and take your rest.
GOD THOUGHT IT BEST AND CALLED YOU HOME BUT IN MY HEART, YOU LIVE STILL.
May the light perpetual from the Almighty shine on you always. AMEN

My Darling Aunty, Mrs. Folabi Yetunde Lukanmbi Alias Iya Gateway, the news about your death came to me as a big shock and still cannot get over it that you have passed on to glory. I cannot forget those memorable periods we spent together when growing up at 19 Shyllon Street, Palm-grove and U.C.H. Ibadan. Grandma makes tea while I'll be blowing it to make it cold for you to drink before going to work, Grandma would shout, "Yetunde, ma miss train o, ago mefa ti fe lu" but on the 8th December, 2014, You made sure that you did not miss the heavenly and glorious train.

You are the one who took me to the hairstylist for the 1st time and after the hairdo you said "Gbemi you look so elegant like me and I want to see you smile at all times".

You are a wonderful, gentle, caring, loving, peaceful and GOD fearing woman, words cannot fully describe you.

Your radiant smile and psychedelic dances will never be erased from my memory.

Aunty, continue to rest in the blossom of the LORD until we meet to part no more. ADIEU, Goodnight!!!

A Eulogy to my Dearest Aunty Fola. Lukanmbi.

My dear Aunty, I consider this tribute to you to be premature which makes this task extremely painful for me to undertake.
I never expected I would be doing this so soon.
You, who were so full of life and love.
I can't help but remember my university days when Debo and I were alone at home, and how you used to drive home every Friday night from your work bases in Ogun and later Lagos States.
You would cook all sorts of dishes for Debo and I to last us through the week. What precious memories of my University years those are.
There are so many ways in which you touched my life, from my childhood, to when you allowed me to use my first car in U.I (Oy 3244 AE) to how you played a mothers role during my wedding, your love and care when my mum passed on and later my dad.
You were always there for my sisters and I and most times we didn't even have to ask before you did the right thing.
My joy is that you were always praying and you had a special love for The Lord.
I will dearly miss our phone chats. Your lovely Frejon during Easter and most of all your laughter and joyful spirit.
The Lord knows why he chose to take you to him now.
You will always live in my heart
Rest in perfect peace at the Lords bosom Aunty.

PROVINCE 4 ELDERS COUNCIL TRIBUTE
This is not an easy task for any of us in the Provincial Elders Council, definitely not for us in the Executive Council. Elder (AP) Mrs Fola Lukanmbi joined the Executive Council just about three and half years ago and she came beaming with light and truth. We were very aware that she was well educated, urbane and had a robust family and professional background. We also discovered that she was well immersed in the scripture, a prayer warrior, a woman of faith, and tireless team worker.Fola took her assignment and engagement at the Executive Council very seriously and seemed to have set herself the personal goal of fusing the City of David Wisdom Group with the mainstream Province 4 Elders Council. Hitherto, the Wisdom Group in City of David and some other parishes were far removed from the Provincial Council perhaps due to some misconceptions. Fola Lukambi set herself the personal goal of bringing all Church members who are 45 years and above to relate as one body irrespective of names or appellations. This she achieved very excellently within 3 years to the extent that we had held two seminars at COD in the last two years. COD began to attend our night vigils, Elders Congress and Joint programmes. We were pleasantly encouraged during the Family Week-end activities at Hope Hall Parish that about ten leading members of the COD Wisdom group attended, led by their chairman, Elder Otu-Mba and his Executive Council members. Incidentally, our late pastor Mrs Fola Lukanmbi was already onHospital bed at Cider Crest Orthopaedic Hospital in Ikeja at that time. We just cannot fully grasp how the Lord works out His purposes!
Fola, you with us held an Exco meeting on October 23rd at Hope Hall that was meant to tie up loose ends concerning the Elders Joint Programme for the 2014 Family Week-end. You were so lively, jovial and optimistic that you would dance ‘like no one’s Business’ at the programme. Many caterers were suggested but your candidate towered above all others. It was there a great shock when on Wednesday, December 12, that you called me and my deputy individually to report that you had an auto accident and was admitted at the Military hospital the previous day while on your way back to your Redemption Camp residence from church service.
Fola, though I was away to Ibadan, my deputy and four other members of the Exco were at your bedside for over five hours until the failed attempt to transfer you to the National Orthopedic Hospital, Igbobi. Fola we were back to Military hospital the following day until we searched you out at Cider Crest Hospital in Ikeja GRA. Because you Fola are very precious and loving to us, we had to squeeze in some time to meet with you at the hospital, bringing along the Visiting National Elder to visit, play and pray with you. Oh! What encouraging and faith building statements and words always came out of your mouth!
We are sure you were any pastor’s or prophet’s delight to visit and pray for on sick bed. We indeed believe that no doctor would wish for a more positive patient. None of us and not one of the senior pastors and servants of God that visited you had inkling that you may pay the bodily death debt in that hospital! And that calls us to soberness and resignation to God’s ALMIGHTINESS.
Again, we call to remembrance your extra-ordinary service to our members during the Elder’s Congress, 2014, which took place at the Redemption Camp in June. Everybody involved commented that it was the best organized year for Province 4; just because of your sacrifices, Fola! You, without any prompting or request offered to surrender your newly completed and ultra modern bungalow at the Camp as the cooking and meal preparation point for our Province. You also assisted in securing accommodation in the Shilo rented apartments. You did not stop there but amazed us in that you were directly involved in the cooking of food, three times a day during the 2-day meeting. You also used your car to convey drinks and made every Elder happy. I remember we in the leadership were concerned that you were over working to satisfy us at your own expense and inconvenience.
On hindsight, we feel that you particularly went out in the last two years to serve the Lord and the saints as if you were aware that your time on this side of eternity was ebbing out. Perhaps not but surely, Fola, you knew how to love and to serve.
You were very good to many other people’s children and God,even our God shall be good to Doyin, Debo and all your children including adopted and spiritual ones
Adieu. We shall not and will not forget you. We know that it is well with your soul. Rest in the bosom of your Saviour, Lord and Master till we meet to part no more.

Chairman/Coordinator, RCCG-Lagos Province 4 Elders Council

TRIBUTE FROM THE WISDOM GROUP

Fola our dear friend and sister in the Lord, on the last Sunday of the month of November we visited you as a group. We remember the smile on your face immediately you saw us. We remember we spent so much time singing praises to the Lord and you sang so well dancing in a seated position on your hospital bed. Your hands were lifted up unto the LORD your God the creator of all. As we praised and worshiped that day, the room was filled with the presence of God that even the hospital staff knew something unusual was happening, as they came to say they heard us praising and we had to lower our voices. We were carried away with the praise and worship that we did not realise that we could be heard outside the closed door. The joy and laughter from you that day made our visit memorable.
You were so full of life that we talked about the thanksgiving service we will have after your discharge from the hospital. We even told you that God will give you a new dancing step on that day. We had a beautiful fellowship. Alas little did we know that God was preparing you for a better place, your heavenly home.
Sister Fola we are already missing you. We will definitely miss you at our Exco meetings, General meetings and as our representative on Province 4 Council of Elders. In your usual manner you took your assignment as our representative at the Provincial level very seriously. You encouraged us to have interest in all activities at provincial level. Your fruitful contributions at meetings and sometimes the stern stand you took without blinking an eye which earned you the nickname ‘The General’ will be missed. We will also miss you as Wisdom Group Choir Director. We will miss your presence in church and at all our social outings.
Sister Fola, space and time will not permit us to continue with this write up. You were on assignment even on the last day of your active life. You slept off peacefully on the 8th of December in the presence of your loved ones. Sleep well and goodnight our beloved sister till we meet at the other side of the river where there will be no more goodbyes and farewells. Farewell for now.........

"Titi Layi ni iranti olododo. You will forever be missed and remembered for your love, care and humorous gestures shown towards me and every member of my family. My mum was disheartened by the news of your passing away especially when she had prepared fresh fish stew and pounded yam the way u like it ready to take to you@ the hospital on her way to camp before she heard the news, but her consolation is that you have gone to be with the Lord having finished your work like Paul said..I
I knew you for fourteen years, and you never stopped caring for me just as a mother will care for her daughter.
I remember you would call to invite me for singles events all in the bid to see me settle down.
Happy I saw you at the hospital before your demise and as always you prayed for me, and you were cheerful even in your pain.
You were a Gem.
Sleep well in the bosom of your father...."

Tributes to Late Mrs Yetunde Lukanmbi who died on Monday 8th December 2014

The holy book says in Ecclesiastes 3 to everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven, a time to be born and a time to die", There was a time Aunty Yetunde Lukanmbi was born and this her time to pass on, Glory be to God, It is with sadness of heart and great difficulty that I received the sad news of the passing away to the great beyond of Aunty Yetunde, Whose earthly good deeds especially towards her Creator and Humanity cannot be mentioned in this tributes, she loved her God and deployed her resources spiritually, morally, and financially to serve God. Though we grieve of her death and have saddened by the loss, we however take solace in her good works bequathed to us, particularly we in the wisdom group and city of david in general.
She was always supportive of our activities in all ramifications. she was gentle, kind and accommodating just last October, she celebrated her 69th Birthday as usual with much eating and drinking with members of the wisdom group. Little did anyone know that was the last outing with us. I condole with the family, members of the wisdom group and the church of God. May her gentle soul rest in peace. Adieu our Aunty

Pastor lukanmbi was a very active member of WISDOM GROUP,RCCG city of david parish who made a great contribution within the group. She loved speaking out her mind.she made an impart in all the yearly elders weeks programmes.she will be missed as our choir director during our future elders programmes.
We remember the day we visited her in the hospital few days before she pass on to glory, someone from another RCCG parish called to thank her for helping them get a good caterer for their program.
We marvelled at her concern for things to go well even on an hospital bed.she was full of faith and bubbled with joy.we never had the inkling that it was a parting visit we paid her.
Even though she lived in Redemption Camp, she hardly absent herself from our monthly exco-meetings and prayer meetings.
May her gentle soul continue to rest at the bossom of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Doyin and Debo, the Holy spirit will comfort and guide you in all your endeavours and fill your mummy's void in Jesus Might Name.DR & Mrs Anibaba.

Beloved Mummy, it is hardly believable that you have gone to the land beyond. You were always full of smiles for me whenever we meet in Church. Your were full of life and the news of your demise came as a rude shock. May the almighty God grant your immediate family and the entire church the fortitude to bear the loss and may your beautiful soul find rest in HIM till we meet again.

Mummy, I won't forget how at ALL times your positive and excellent approach to life was deeply rooted in your faith in Jesus Christ, you never saw obstacles, persistently you moved on on ALL fronts.
As your physiotherapist, son and student, I was hoping to see you at camp someday and tap from your wealth of knowledge and experience, but alas Christ had His way, telling me you did your part for me already to carry on. Unbelievable and hard to take, I accept your transition to glory as His will for physical death is merely a transition to another life. Mummy thanks for everything
