Francene Teresa Wilson passed away peacefully on June 22, 2020. Born November 15, 1958 in Seattle,Washington from the union of Sammie and Roberta Wilson, Francene was the 6th of 10 Wilson siblings, and was affectionately given the nickname “Cookie” by family at an early age.  Francene graduated from Garfield High School and furthered her education at the University of Washington. Francene worked faithfully in retail, customer service, and administration for more than 25 years, and was known and easily recognizable by her charisma, laughter, and welcoming smile, until retiring from work at Seattle Central College. Francene was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, and friend, and was known to many as “Dancene”, a great friend, sweet, loving, fun, hilarious and an ultimate Seahawk fan. We will always remember her bodacious spirit and the laughter she delivered throughout Seattle with her iconic dancing and her whistles. She influenced family members, friends, colleagues, customers, and strangers young and old to get up and dance and to bring their best moves. She is a beautiful treasure and will be truly missed, and always will be dancing in our hearts.

Francene is survived by her loving husband Arthur Reddick, (Children) Linisha Smith, Jataun Mednikov, Curtis Smith and Jarvis Smith, (Grandchildren) Sophia Palmer, Katerina Mednikov, Jamiya Smith and Kaiyah Smith, (Siblings) Larry Wilson, Coletta Sipes, Joyce Jefferson, Sam Wilson, Patti Barlow, Pamela Wilson, Jerome Wilson, Nathaniel Wilson, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Francene is preceded in death by her parents and her brother James “Pete” Walter Wilson.

There will be a remembrance balloon release in honor of Francene held at Othello Park in Seattle, WA on Sunday July 5, 2020 at 3:00 pm.

Due to COVID, we are not organizing a memorial service at this time. We will have a celebration of her life surrounded by friends and loved ones when conditions allow.

In lieu of memorial flowers the family is requesting donations be made in Francene's name to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.

To the family I am so sorry for your lost. Francene became a good friend to me at Garfield High School. We were dancing pupetts. Chewed bubble gum in class. And always laughed in the halls at the dog house . We later discovered that we had the same Nick name.Cookie that sealed our friendship for a life time. Most important we were sister in Christ. When she was baptized at Madison Church of Christ. We were believers that God died on the cross for us and that God has prepared a place for those who believe. Francene was a believer. Love me some Francene. Gods LOVE is greater!

So sorry to hear of Francene's passing. We got to know each other when we worked together to coordinate she and Arthur's wedding at Madison Park church of Christ. I learned during that time and over the years that she was a woman of true class and style. When she attended church, we would always share life experiences & fashion tips after service and often times, we would be dressed in the same colors and she would be sure to get a picture. Francene, you have reminded me that we are only here for a little while. Sending prayers to Arthur, your children, and your entire family during this early time of loss. May God Bless and Keep them all! Rest in Paradise Francene; you were a beautiful person!

To the family,
We’re so sorry for your loss. We grieve with you. Francene was special to us. She was a
virtuous woman. I remember when my wife and I got married Arthur had told me he had met someone special. He continued to tell me
all the things that made her special to him.
I told him “ Arthur, that’s the kind of girl that you marry.” And he did. They married at the same church, Madison Park Church of Christ
that we did. She’ll be truly missed.
God bless you all
