Francis Joseph Gies III (affectionately known as Bear) passed away suddenly on June 23, 2022 in Belleville Kansas.
He is survived by his wife Stephanie Gies and his only child Francis Joseph Gies IV from Pennsgrove, NJ. The son of the late Francis Joseph Gies II from Cherry Hill, NJ.  Survived by his mother Linda Lake (Don) of Williamstown, NJ. Brother of Jennifer Gies (Joel) of Swedesboro, NJ, Beatrice Gies of Clayton, NJ, David Gies of Cherry Hil,l NJ and Amanda Gies of Bellmawr, NJ. Grandson of the late Francis Joseph Gies I and Natalie Gies Daly, the late Earl M Lake Jr, and survived by his grandmother Beatrice Gies.  Also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.                . 
Francis was born on August 13, 1979 in Camden NJ.  He resided in South Jersey his entire life until recently moving to Belleville, Kansas two years ago.                    
Francis was a very proud father, he loved spending time with his son and it showed from the minute he was born. They loved each other beyond words. Francis loved his family and enjoyed spending quality time with them, whether it was a holiday, birthday or just sitting around the kitchen table laughing and cracking jokes, he enjoyed every minute.                        
Francis graduated from Kingsway Regional High School, Class of 1998 and made some lifelong friends there that meant so much to him. His most recent job was at East Elementary School in Kansas. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, fixing up cars, bowling, billiards and cooking. He also loved going to church in Kansas where he met so many wonderful people who took him under their wings, and he was so grateful for all they did for him. 
We love you Bear, there are no goodbyes for us because wherever you are, you will always be in our hearts. 
There will be a private viewing for immediate family on Friday July 8th at Fertig Funeral Home,  63 N Main Street, Mullica Hill NJ 08062. The Gies family would like to invite everyone to join us for a graveside service on Friday July 8th at 12:pm at Lake Park Cemetery, 701 Park Ave. Swedesboro, NJ 08085
