Dad proudly served in the U.S. Army.  He was deployed overseas to Korea and Japan during the wartime Korean conflict.

Here is a picture of Dad cutting an "impressive figure" in his Army uniform during basic training.  Fort Leonard Wood.  Waynesville, MO 1950.

Our lovely Mother, Anna "Ruth" Crockett, 1947.  Yes, she's a "looker".  She was also quite tall at 5'9".  Along with her beloved older sister Velma, she was known as one of the "Bean Pole Sisters".

Charles Bishop.  Dad's older brother, our "Uncle Charlie", was an adventurer, aviator and avid art collector.  "Uncle Charlie" was a huge influence in Dad's life.  Uncle Charlie was married to his beautiful lifelong sweetheart, Beatrice (Aunt Bee).

Dad had a lifelong passion for Siamese Cats which was passed down to his entire family.  His faithful Siamese cat Mozart ("Mo") kept vigil over Dad on his bed in hospice.

Dad lost his Mum when he was quite young (1944).  He was 15 years of age.

You can see Dad's childhood home, the Andover County Courthouse, in this photo.  He lived there because his Father, Frank V. Bishop, was the county Sherriff.  The county courthouse is the larger sized white building in the lower bottom right of this picture.
