His Life

Staff Sergeant (RET) Freddie J. Forte, born February 29, 1954 in Eufaula, Alabama to the late Aaron and Nettie Mencer Forte, departed this life on Sunday, January 25, 2015 Columbus Hospice, Midtown Medical Center. 

Freddie, graduated from Columbus High School in 1972 and then served his country 20 years in the United States Army in the Signals Corps before retiring in 1994. He was employed by Livingston Storage and Transfer, where he worked for 20 years before retiring as an Operations Manager in December 2014. 

A funeral was held on January 31, 2015 in the Chapel of The Progressive Funeral Home with an Interment at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, February 2, 2015.

Freddie was survived by and leaves to cherish his memory, Carmen Forte (Germany); a loving daughter Jeanine Forte of Germany, a devoted son Brandon Forte Columbus, GA; and two grandchildren, Trinity Forte of Columbus, GA and Samira Forte of Germany; 13 siblings John Forte; Aaron Forte, Jr; Nettie (Willie James) Tate; Betty Fitch and Doc (Teresa) Forte all of Columbus, GA. Hattie Denson; Berry (Ann) Forte and Edward (Betty) Forte, of Eufaula, AL. Robert (Brenda) Forte and James (Ann) Forte of Tampa, FL. Edna Sprott Colorado Springs, CO, Arlie Forte Cincinnati, OH and Allen (Janice) Forte, North Richland Hills, TX. He was adored by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
