Mr. Fredrick (Fred) Lamar Dunson, son to Mr. Clifford Lewis Dunson Sr. and the late Ms. Mary Estella Dunson (Dallas) was born in Hogansville, (Troup County), Georgia on May 5, 1965. On February 4, 2017 at Hospice LaGrange in LaGrange, Ga, Fred drifted off to be with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his mom; sister, Teresa Dianne; grandparents, Charlie and Mary Dunson, Howard Dallas and Daisy Bonner; uncles, Billy and Bennie Dallas, and James Dunson; aunts Deborah Dallas and Evelyn Paige.
Fredrick (Fred) was affectionately known to family and as “Mule, Green Eyes”.
Fred received his education in Heard County Public school system and graduated from Heard County High School in 1983. He loved playing football and was a valued member of the Heard County Braves Football family. It was here he earned the name “Wild Man or Hit Man Fred” because he played on both offense and defense for the team. As an offensive player he was a swift, tough running back who could stretch plays and break for long touchdown runs. When playing on defense, Fred was able to stop the run by placing fierce hits on opponents putting them out of the game and even ending careers. Fred was a Heard County Brave to his Heart.
After completing high school, Fredrick served in the U. S. Army and then returned to Heard County to settle down and begin his career of self-employment. Although Fred had many talents, his passion was in the construction field. When he was not working with his dad and brother, you could find him planning, designing and creating with his hands. Whether it was repairing someone’s plumbing or helping build a house, his unique ability to use his hands was always noticeable.
He was a blessed, gifted and skilled construction engineer until stricken with illness.
Fred’s spiritual nurturing began at a very early age at home and was expanded by his membership at an early age at Harmonia CME Methodist Church.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his dad, Mr. Clifford Dunson Sr. (Mattie); one sister, Felecia Dunson (Robin); three brothers, Clifford (Junebug) Jr. (Cynthia) LaGrange, Ga., David Honolulu, HI and Rexton Hogansville, Ga., two nieces Angel and Kinsley; four nephews Jamelle, Bryan, Tyler and Joshua; a very special family, The Rosser Family and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
