Passed away on September 20, 2013 in Dallas, Texas, United States
This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Gene Roderick, 66 years old, born on July 18, 1947, and passed away on September 20, 2013. We will remember him forever.
Gene, with all the driving trips that you made ..alone..between Texas and Tennessee, I rode every mile with you in my thoughts and prayers for your safe trip. The last time that we were together is when I helped you purchase a used 'spare tire, with rim' to fit your car on a return trip to Texas. Rode with you all the way in my heart. Will miss you Gene. Gene was my friend for 20 plus years, you really had to get to know him to appreciate what he was all about. He had one hell of a wicked streak, but was a good man to the core. Gene I will miss you.
Gene with his many ailments, was known to have 9 lives (or more). When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, he told me he would give me one of his lives. He was sweet, usually in an unexpected way. He took me on as his daughter-in-law quite quickly. We shared an interest in photography. Also, he helped me learn how to shoot and drive manual. Good times, but too short. Will miss him!
We were only cousins but I loved everything about Gene. We had many fun emails. I enjoyed hearing about his wild boar hunting and worried about him but I know he had such a good time hunting. He talked a lot about Alan and Tam...the loves of his life. Oh yes, I'll miss you a lot Gene. We'll meet again at another time. Rest in Peace
Gene was a very special friend and I will miss him dearly. We had such great conversations and he had an interesting way of putting things into perspective. He would cheer me up in low times and his company was just priceless. I have lots of great memories with Gene and will cherish those memories forever.
Thank you to the friends and family who have been there for my dad during his lifetime. Please feel free to share your thoughts about Geno by leaving a tribute.
If you want to share longer stories, you can go to the "Stories" tab. I'm sure there are plenty of Geno stories out there.
