Sadly, as a neighbor, I only knew you for a few years but you made an impression on me.
You reminded me so much of my dad, stoic, strong, and kind.
Anytime I needed help you were always looking out for me.
Hanging out in my backyard will not be the same.
I will forever miss our "across the fence" conversations.
I can see you know enjoying an ice cold corona and the best cuban cigar as you look down over your loved ones.

Gene ever since I've known you I can say this without a doubt, your a man's man and will be truly missed. I can still remember your handshake the day I left for Costa Rica and how strong and firm it was even in the condition you were in. Even then you refused to let anyone feel sad. I will miss you friend I thought of you like a second Father and even my own Dad would not disagree. Your daughters, son, wife, and family will always be part of my life. I know we will meet again so until then rest in peace.......

I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Gene when he was in Columbia visiting my brother Mark. Easy to see how he influenced and led his family, as he was truly a strong, proud and accomplished man. So glad to know he gave his heart to Christ - this assures us of meeting again and enjoying all God has in store for His children. Until that day, rest easy brother.
