Let the memory of Gerald be with us forever.
  • 65 years old
  • Born on September 12, 1953 in Newark, New Jersey, United States.
  • Passed away on September 6, 2019 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, United States.
Gerald Worden, 65, of Scranton, Pennsylvania passed away on September 6th, 2019. After months of failing health, ultimately losing his battle to cancer, he died peacefully within his home surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born on September 12, 1963 in Newark, NJ to the late Gerald and Viola Worden.
As a very young man he learned to work hard and to take on whatever job was available to support himself. He worked in construction until retirement.
He was a good father who did the best he could to teach and guide his children. He was a strong patriarch of his family and a good friend to all. Jerry was a stubborn man with rough edges and a big heart who spoke fluent sarcasm and seriously lacked a filter. He was an avid lover of motorcycles and a committed  member of the ‘Zero Tolerance’ motorcycle club, founded by his eldest son, Frank. He enjoyed motorcycle rides, fishing, kayaking, hunting, wrestling, and sitting on the porch with a super hot cup of tea. Jerry was above all passionate and proud of all of his grandchildren.
He is survived by his companion, Ann Marie McKinnon, Scranton. Three sons: Frank Worden and companion Eleanor Figuccio, Scranton; Gerald (Guy) Worden and his wife Donna, Scranton; Vincent Worden and his wife Sarah, Throop; and Daughters Danielle Worden, Binghamton, NY; and Aziah Rose Mckinnon, at home. Siblings: Donna, Anna, Tammy. Dawn, Willie, Georgie, Gary and Roy. Grandchildren: Kaelie, Matthew, Malayna, Vincenzo, Tyler, Austin, Justin, Hailey, Lucas, Marky, Cheyenne, Owen and Roman. Step Children: Jerry Lynn, Beverly, DeeDeeDennis, Brian and John and their companions. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jerry was proceeded in death by his first wife, Donna, and his second wife, Shirley.
The family would like to thank all the health care professionals involved for their great care in the last couple of months of his life and are sincerely grateful to the wonderful staff and nurses at Traditional Home Health & Hospice who comforted and cared for him in his last days.
He is loved and will be missed by many!
A celebration of Life will be held on: Sunday, September 15th, 2019 Throop Fire house 1. 51 Center Street Throop, Pa from 12pm-4pm.
A motorcycle procession will follow immediately to accompany Jerry on one last ride. All are welcome to join us!
