I'll never know why I was so blessed to have had Gregory in my life. Maybe God knew I needed an Angel; and so, in the midst of this unbelievable, mind-numbing grief, I thank Him, for granting me Greg as my forever friend.

Yes, indeed, he was just a wonderful, inspirational man of rock-solid faith. He never put me down, knowing so many of my shortcomings. Instead, he pushed me to see the good within myself, and build on that. And he shared that abundance of goodwill with so many others.

He's gone so suddenly. And I didn't get to tell him, again, how much he helped me strive to find my God-given purpose, and just how much I love him for being a once-in-a-lifetime friend.

When I would tell him he was a 'Rock' for so many people, he would correct me, saying he was God's servant. And what a great one he was!

I'll miss everything about him, yet I'll forever cherish his memory, and the positive impact he's made on my life. The times he made me smile when I wanted to cry. His spirit will live on. So in the tough days to come, I'll stop, think of him, and smile, knowing he's one of God's leading Angels.

Words can not express how I feel. Greg was and always will be missed dearly!!!!! God has gained another angel!!!!!!. I will always remember when the class of 91 had a mini reunion, and we all went out to dinner after church, we had a blast. Greg had to leave...then shortly we were ready to leave, we were waiting for the bill. We waited for almost 15 minutes, so we decided to get waitress, she had told us that before Greg had left, he had already paid for our bill!!! That was so awesome and kind of him, especially since the bill was not cheap!!! He was a true man of God. I and the entire lutheran west high school alums will miss him dearly!!!!! Rest in peace my brother!!!!!!!!

To my cousin/brother whom I love I will always remember the kindness you showed to all. Also all the times you and Billy allowed me to be your third wheel growing up. I am so grateful to have known you so blessed and inspire me to be a better person I celebrate your life.
Psalm 100:1-5 ESV

A Psalm for giving thanks. Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations. You have run your race your job is done many know God because of you. I love you Gregory and I will tell all I know about the love of God so we continue to spread his word as you have.

Gregory, my life is forever better for having shared so many years with you. Thank you, Dear....you showed me what it was, to truly have someone love you. You taught me what it was to truly have a friend. I will cherish you for all of my days. You were a wonderful spirit, a true force to be reckoned with.

What a beautiful mind. What strong convictions, sense of purpose and willingness to stand up for what you believe.

Thank you for giving humanity so much to live up to.

God truly blessed us through you.

Rest in glory....rest in glory!

I can remember the last time I saw Greg. We had a birthday get together for granddaddy. Greg stayed up stairs because the game was on. I ask him was he going to eat? and he said yes but didn't move. So I ask him would you like me to fix you something? He said, "that would be so kind of you cousin." And we both laughed. Never thought that would be the last time I fix him a plate, or the last time we laughed together. Your job was well done here on earth Greg, it was well done. You are truly missed cousin.

Ok, I'm gonna tell it. When Billy and Dana became adolescent, I taught them about birthcontrol. I bought a box of condoms and vaginal foam that can prevent pregnancy most of the time, to show them and taught them where to go and feel safe about asking questions about anything
Fast forward to some weekend Billy and Gregory were together

It was a lot of years ago, but I was privileged to be Greg's math teacher throughout high school at Lutheran West. What a brilliant mathematical mind! One of the top students I have ever had in 33 years of teaching. There were times I didn't need to make an answer key for a test...just find Greg's test and use it as the key!

I still remember that despite his great intellect, he remained a nice, quiet, and humble kid. I always wondered what he would do with his life, and from all these tributes, it sounds like he has done quite well for himself. Greg will be greatly missed!

May God grant comfort to those who mourn his loss. Greg, we will see you again one day!

My cousin you will truly be missed. You were always so concerned about the rest of us. You were a very busy man but never too busy for family or friends. You made sure that you if you were in town you took time out our of your busy schedule to visit. You even offered to escort me to my Christmas party a few weeks ago. I am so sorry that we did not get to see each other, when you were here. I still feel blessed that when you called, we were able to tell each other we loved each other,so many people don't get that chance. Love Always

Although I didn't know much about Gregory Posey, I DID AND STILL DO KNOW he cared about the well being and future of our youth. Going outside his way to teach and guide young men and women to make sure they live their lives to the fullest the way God intended. Such a blessing in so many ways.. Pushing for education and prosperity in the lives of those he touched,, He will forever be missed, loved, appreciated.

I believe the words Greg is hearing now are from Matthew 25 (NIV):

"Well done, good and faithful servant! ... Come and share your master’s happiness!

Greg was and is one of the most compassionate, wise and sincere souls that a person can hope to know in a lifetime. I feel fortunate to have been privileged to know him and call him brother. He was always someone who could make you smile, think, and want to do better. He grew in his Christian faith and provided a great every-day example of how to walk in love and treat people with respect. I have tremendous respect for the brother's mind and more so his heart. He always kept his ego in check and truly became a drum major for love and helping as many brothers and sisters as he could along the way. One of my fondest memories was the times spent in Greg Harden's basement where the three of us would rap for hours about everything under the sun, watch kung fu movies, break bread, and play pool. The thing I will miss most is his wit and smile. RIP brother - I know your spirit is alive and remains with us. Thank you for living an exemplary life. You've done well.

Son/brother

January 14, 2014
I do not know where to start Gregory was my step son (really nothing about step!!! We shared a lot together from learning to drive , him going away to college , going on his first date to getting married. Gregory was the best big brother any person could ask for .. His sister (Allysia) from day one has being the apple of his eye until they closed he was a mentor, friend and for his brother (Joshua) he was also a friend and a mentor but he was always hard on him they always debated everything unless they were playing basketball or watching a game together. I could always call him and say Allysia/josh need help in math and he was right there explaining and teaching. I know that he has left steps for us all the only sad part is that his niece (Blaire) will not get to meet him as she gets older but she will always know him he called her nia which he was good at renaming people if he did not like the name lol!!!! I will forever love this wonderful man of god we were not far in age he never talk back to me and always gave me the respect as a parent .. I often said I was his sister and he would say no mommie I only have one and you are not her lol!!! I will always love him and he will forever be a part of my life see you later son !!!!!!!! Rest in peace you have live a vey unselfish life ...

An email was forwarded to me, which originated with the French man Greg authored an HP (Hewlett Packard) certification manual with, Jean-Maurice Merel.  Altough they authored the book together over a year ago, they had never met.  But God made it happen through what Jean-Maurice calls "hasard", which means coincidence.  I will also share the photo they took together at the airport.
Here is the email:

Subject: I met a nice guy in Detroit airport

Last Friday evening, I get stuck in plane in the LAX airport for 2 hours because of an alert (a car accident was interpreted (by those crazy american security guys) as a gun shot), I missed my Paris night flight and spent night in hotel. I get up early to be rerouted through Detroit and Amsterdam.

in Detroit airport, when I was trying to kill time in front of a coffee , I had the apparition of one of the 5.2 millions of Detroit citizen: Greg Posey in person!!

Who believe in hasard?

I say there are no coincidences.  This was orchestrated by God alone.

On the Court!

January 10, 2014

I had the wonderful experience of meeting GP during my time at Michigan and he was always spreading knowledge and was a mentor to many.  However some of my favorite memories of Greg were on the basketball court.  There was no better way to get open than to brush by him as he set a pick, and he loved setting picks and he specially liked setting them at half court on a fastbreak, lighting those poor defenders attempting a full court press!  Love you brother, you are in my prayers!
