On February 22, 2023 H. Jacqueline Denniston passed away peacefully at the age of 95, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

She was born and lived the first fifty years of her life in North Brunswick N.J. She attended Parsons Elementary School where she met her future husband Jim Denniston. She and Jim enjoyed 68 years of marriage before his death in 2015.

After High School Jackie secured a job at Squibbs Pharmaceutical as a lab technician where she tested antibiotics. As customary in the 1950’s she “retired” from her career when she was expecting her first child. Welcoming Jim Jr.and a few years later baby Judy into their family they nicknamed themselves the “Jolly J’s”. As a stay at home mom Jackie was very active in her community.

She taught Sunday School at the Reformed Church of Livingston Ave. She served as president of “Old” Parsons School and the “New” Parsons School. She was a member of North Brunswick Ladies Fireman Auxiliary, American legion Auxiliary, and the Women’s club of North Brunswick.

Jackie and Jim retired to their home in Point Pleasant where she enjoyed being close to her family and new friends she made in the Meadow Point Association. In her later years she rekindled her love of knitting. She knitted thousands of newborn baby hats that she donated to local hospitals.

She will be deeply missed by her Children Jim Denniston Jr. and his wife Terry, Judy Pehanick and her husband Paul. Grandma will also be missed by her 6 loving grandchildren Kelly, Jamie, Erin, Megan, Jared, and Michael, as well as her 10 great grandchildren.

The Time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

A Very Special Aunt

February 23, 2023
Aunt Jackie was a personable, warm, caring person whose loving ways sustained us throughout the years. I have so many wonderful memories from numerous family holiday gatherings ,Christmas Eve dinners , poolside cookouts, boat rides on the "Jolly J", fun times in the Endless Mountains of Pa., adorable baby hats you so generously knitted for babies everywhere, the crabs you caught, cleaned and served! Making a hot crab dip that was divine!
You welcomed our spouses, children and grandchildren as if they were your own.
You lived a life full of love, happiness and grace all of which we are very grateful!
You will be greatly missed but forever in our hearts!
