HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY IRISH BUDDY FROM BUSHWICK... You were a special man who contributed much to make BB's the site it had become............You are missed.
HARRY, YOU ARE MISSED BY ALL, MAY GOD CONFORT YOUR FAMILY, LOVED ONES AND ALL YOUR FRIENDS, AM HAVING TROBLE ACCESSING THE SITE BUT FINALLY GOT ON HERE TO POST THIS, LOVE, PRAYERS AND GOD BLESS,
Harry, You are greatly missed on Bushwickbuddies, your presence was always a plus. I like to think that your spirit is with us, as your name has been spoken many times. Who can forget that cute tyke on the infamous Brooklyn horse. Your "Irish friend" misses you....Rest In Peace
Harry was a friend to everyone ... his wild Irish blarney will be missed by everyone who knew him. We lived across the street from each other but since he was 8 or 9 and I was only 2, our paths didn't cross until many years later when he joined us at Bushwick Buddies. He instantly became one of the most popular buddies and returned that friendship to everyone. Catch up with Anthony and David.
I will always remember Harry for his "Irish" wit. He had that special gift of making you laugh & see the humorous side of the situation. I will cherish the times that Harry, Terry, Don & I shared. Sue Smith
Don Smith ... Life Time Friend Harry and I have been good friends for over 60 yers. Everyone should have a friend like Harry. He put a spark of true friendship into my life. I will never, ever forget him.
Harry, we thought we would have you forever on BB's. It seems like yesterday that you were posting about your childhood in Brooklyn, the people you knew back then, your adventure in the Navy, and your beloved family. God bless you, for the good person you were.
Uncle Harry, We have such wonderful memories of you. The laughter, smiles, jokes that you have brought will never be forgotten. You are at PEACE now. Our love and prayers to Aunt Terry, Harry and family. Love, John Pattie & Dominic Bellissimo
I WAS SADDENED LEARNING OF MY GOOD BUDDY'S PASSING. HARRY AND I LIVED ONE BLOCK AWAY FROM EACH OTHER ON CENTRAL AVENUE AND ALSO WENT TO F.H.M. SCHOOL. WE OFTEN SPOKE OF THE SAME FRIENDS WE HAD ESPECIALLY THE MALONE BROTHERS. HARRY IS GOING TO BE SORELY MISSED ALONG WITH HIS WIT. MAY GOD GIVE COMFORT TO HIS LOVING FAMILY. NICK GREGORIO
Gene Marksteiner lit a candle on 6th December 2010 We are very saddened by the news of Harry Sr. passing. He will be missed dearly in our phone conversations about the days of playing baseball for the N.H.P. Nat'ls and all the other good times back in the 40's & 50's. Harry will always be in "My Hall of Fame." God Bless. Rest in Peace.
We are profoundly sadened by the news of Harry, Sr. passing. Our most recent memory reflects back to the SHS 50th reunion and the basebal stories we shared with the NHP Nationals in the days of sandlot baseball that we played in the 1940's.
May Harry, Sr. rest in peace and God bless you all.
I was so saddened to hear of Harry's passing. It was such a shock as it happened so suddenly. May his soul rest in peace with the Lord in heaven. Terry, God bless you and your family. Much love always. Mike and Janis
I was stunned when I learned the news. Harry was such a gentleman and warm hearted Bushwick Buddy and I thought he’d get past this health problem but it wasn’t to be. I know Harry often spoke of his beloved sister and he will be reunited with her now in their forever home, God speed my friend, you will always be missed.
We were so sad to learn that our Bushwick Buddy Harry has passed. His wit, and his wisdom will be sorely missed. Our deepest condolences to his wife and family. Take comfort in the fact that we will all be reunited in Heaven. Alan and Sandra Welch
I'm very sad to learn that a long lost family member has passed. Harry has all the answers now, and is with Harry Sr., Edward, Jack, and all the rest. God Bless his soul, and my condolences to his wife and family. Edward O'Brien
I am sorry to hear this sad news. Uncle Harry is in a much better place, without suffering. He is probably talking baseball with our good Lord right now! Aunt Terry, Cousin Harry, and his family, are in our prayers. John and Carla Cullon
As far away as he wound up in life, he wasn't at all removed from his Coney Island haunts. What a gentleman! A great man...sympatico to a fault. Harry, I now charge you with a reconnaissance mission ...check out Heaven for us and if you can muster up the conviction and can-do attitude that you had in life, see what you can do for your buddies..greet and welcome them. So long buddy!
Harry's impact on people is profound. I have been fortunate to know him through the Bushwick Buddies and will not forget his wit, his genuine concern for others and his impish grin! Heaven's gain is our loss. May the O'Brien family receive comfort from the Lord during this difficult time.
Although Harry and I grew up blocks apart in Bushwick, I didn't have the pleasure of getting acquainted with him until we met on BushwickBuddies. We all became family, sharing our life stories, our pictures and just enjoying the comraderie. Harry shared his joy of his home and the fact that his grandson was nearby, the apple of his Irish eye......... Harry, you will be sorely missed.
